It's very thin when applied, which makes it adhere well to the skin. However, it feels almost like ink, leaving marks even on the cushion puff. For extremely dry skin, it lacks the expected hydration and coverage. It settles into pores worse than any cushion I've tried before. This could be seen as good adherence, but it only feels cool when applying. It quickly evaporates, leaving a matte finish. After using it twice, I couldn't stand how it made my pores look like granite. Not recommended for those with slightly large pores or dry skin. If you have dry skin and still want to try it, use it only after applying plenty of moisturizing skincare products. - ki************Oily SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinApr 11, 2020
There are only two ingredients to be cautious about, so the formulation seems quite good for a cushion foundation! I've been using it and haven't experienced any blemishes. As someone with oily skin, I really appreciate how it leaves a nice matte finish. Plus, the case design is totally my style! I think it's not great value for money. While the cushion itself isn't bad, it's quite pricey, so I don't plan on repurchasing. - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 1, 2020
## This review is for the very first cushion before it was discontinued and renewed ## It was an incredible value for money. The lightweight and matte finish was surprisingly hydrating, preventing any dead skin cells from showing. There was hardly any breakdown of the makeup. For reference, I used this during the hot summer. The fact that there was minimal breakdown or fading even then... well, that says it all, doesn't it? After using two compacts, I noticed they released a 2.0 version while still selling the original. It was even on sale, so I tried it... but... it seems the original cushion has been discontinued and 2.0 has become the 'standard option'. Talk about a step backwards! ## The cushion I'm about to review is the 2.0 version, which is currently on sale ## It has become more hydrating. However, it's frustratingly ambiguous. While the formula itself is moisturizing, strangely enough, it accentuates dead skin cells that weren't even visible before. The coverage has also significantly decreased compared to the previous version, and the makeup breakdown (darkening) has become more severe. Using it in summer, the way this cushion fades is just... well, your complexion noticeably darkens compared to the original cushion. Personally, I can't fathom why they renewed it. They should have released different versions for various skin types instead. It's the worst. Absolutely avoid buying the 2.0 version. If you spot the old version anywhere, grab it immediately. - su*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 25, 2020
As someone with dry skin, I love cushions that provide hydration and a dewy finish. This cushion is perfect because it's moisturizing without making my hair stick to my face. I used this exclusively for a while, not realizing how sensitive my skin had become until I tried another cushion that completely irritated my skin. I quickly came back to this one. It doesn't make my skin itchy and prevents small bumps and blemishes, which is great. While it's supposed to be moisturizing due to the essence inside, sometimes when you first start using it, the essence doesn't seem to be well-mixed. This can result in less hydration than expected at times. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 25, 2020
The coverage and adherence are both excellent, and it lasts particularly long! It's rare to find a cushion with this level of coverage that's also so moisturizing. That's why I'm now on my umpteenth container of this product. The downside is that the application isn't great due to the puff. So I've bought a puff from another brand to use with it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinMar 24, 2020
# Longevity The staying power wasn't bad, I'd say. It's not great, but not terrible either. Just average longevity. # Scent Personally, I don't find the scent unpleasant. It just smells like typical cosmetics. Somehow I've only ended up with two positive points... I'll add more as I continue using it! # Blemishes I tried it today, and my upper lip and upper cheek areas felt itchy. Usually, I don't experience itchiness with cosmetics unless they really don't suit me. But this one made my skin feel itchy, and after cleansing, my skin felt hot and incredibly itchy. However, this could be due to my skin condition today, so I'll update as I use it more! # Dryness What's this... Despite containing essence, it's far less hydrating than I expected. Disappointingly not moisturizing. # Dead skin cells Since I usually have some dead skin, I applied it today without exfoliating first. The result was truly awful when the cushion mixed with the dead skin cells. It might look nice if I exfoliate, but who can do that every day? # Pores It doesn't cover pores well either... My Clio cushion usually fills them in nicely, but this one doesn't. # Color I think I really chose the wrong shade... The answer is just to focus on skincare diligently. * And why do they keep asking me to edit my review... I haven't written anything wrong. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedMar 19, 2020
The coverage is decent and not bad at all. It has good staying power, feels moisturizing underneath while keeping the surface matte. I like how it gives a sheer, brightening effect. I wish it could give a bit more of a dewy complexion. My skin looks a bit dry and dull, though that might be because I rushed through my skincare routine. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 12, 2020
First off, I have quite fair skin compared to others. I was considering shade 18 but ended up buying 21, which turned out to be surprisingly good for my complexion. The cooling effect was fantastic. The moment I applied it with the puff, I felt a refreshing sensation on my cheeks - loved it! The first photo was taken right after application, and the second one about 4 hours later. There wasn't much darkening, and while some oil did come through, it felt like it could be easily managed with powder. I didn't use primer or powder to see how it performed on its own. Though 4 hours was the max, the coverage was better than I expected. I don't have many blemishes, but it gave me a slight glow that made my skin look healthy. It didn't settle much around my nose either. My skin is on the sensitive side, but I didn't experience any irritation or breakouts. So far, I don't have any major complaints, but I do wish the coverage was a bit better. For blemishes that don't cover in one go, you need to layer it, which might make the makeup feel heavy on the skin. For better coverage, I think using concealer afterwards would work well. Also, setting with powder can help control oil. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 7, 2020
I've been using Hwahae for a while, but this is my first review this year. Let me briefly describe my skin: My blemishes are on another level compared to what you typically see on YouTube or blogs. I have angry, red, hard bumps that protrude from my skin, especially on my chin, forehead, and cheeks. They don't even come to a head. Most popular products don't work for me. I can't use just any cushion, foundation, BB cream, or sunscreen. If I use the wrong toner or cream, my cheeks sting and the blemishes on my cheeks and chin go crazy. I have severe blackheads, particularly on my nose. It's so bad that when it's cold, my makeup looks white and crusty there. I'm very careful about choosing oils. Now for the good points: Great coverage: As I mentioned, I have a lot of protruding blemishes, so I don't usually expect much from cushions. But this one covers the blemishes on my forehead, cheeks, and chin well. When I used this product last winter, it was extremely cold and windy. But except for my nose, I didn't need to touch up my forehead, cheeks, and chin much. Unlike other cushions that make my cheeks itch like crazy, this one doesn't irritate my skin. It's the only product I can use. Now for the downsides: I bought this cushion after reading reviews on Hwahae from people with similar skin to mine who said it gave them a dewy look. But when I wore it outside on a cold day, it cracked and looked terrible. My skin might be more oily than I thought because I definitely didn't get that dewy look. I guess my skin just can't do 'dewy'. After using this product, I realized I shouldn't trust Hwahae reviews or website reviews for my skin type. It's matte: I was shocked because this was supposed to be the most hydrating cushion in their line, but it dried to a powder finish immediately. Dryness and cracking around the nose: I have a lot of blackheads on my nose, so matte products usually leave a white residue there in winter. I tried to avoid this by choosing a moisturizing product, but this one is so matte that it cracks around my nose. Even after wiping with a pad and touching up, it still cracks in cold weather. I'm really confused because all the reviews I read said it was moisturizing and long-lasting in cold weather, but neither is true for me. I'll have to try it in summer when it's hot. Despite these drawbacks, I keep using it because: - It doesn't make my face itch and provides good coverage. - The ads say Magic Snow Cushion has good coverage, but this seems better for my skin, though it's not moisturizing. - This is just my opinion, but I think the people who wrote reviews saying it's moisturizing either have no oil in their skin at all or were paid to write those reviews. Even though the ads and website reviews say it's moisturizing, it's matte on my skin. I'm planning to try it when the weather is warmer. Otherwise, in winter, I might use this cushion on my forehead, cheeks, and chin, and a different cushion on my nose. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedMar 7, 2020
As someone with dry skin, I was impressed by the lasting power and how beautifully it enhanced my complexion. Just like in the ads, it forms dewy droplets like an essence and has a cooling effect, which helps it adhere well to the skin. The case is absolutely gorgeous too! Since I have dry skin, there was a bit of creasing around my eyes. Nevertheless, compared to other cushions, I'm quite satisfied with this one!
