The scent is barely noticeable, and I love how it makes my skin look dewy and radiant. Perhaps because it's an oil, it sat heavily on my skin. I guess it might work differently depending on your skin type... This product seems to have mixed results. While some users enjoy the subtle fragrance and the glowing effect it gives their complexion, others find it too heavy, especially those with oilier skin types. It's important to consider your individual skin needs when trying this product. For those with combination dehydrated skin or those looking for a rich moisturizer, this might be worth a try. However, if you're prone to blemishes or have super sensitive skin, you may want to patch test first or consider alternatives. - ch********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJan 5, 2025
Oil specifically for oily skin This oil seems to be exactly what oily skin needs. The stickier human sebum is, the more it clogs pores. This is determined by the ratio of oleic acid to linoleic acid in the sebum - higher oleic acid makes it stickier, while higher linoleic acid makes it thinner. Therefore, oils high in oleic acid suit dry skin, while those high in linoleic acid are ideal for oily skin. This rosehip oil has a higher linoleic acid content than oleic acid, making it light and quick-absorbing for an oil. It also helps thin out sebum, preventing clogged pores. Rich in vitamins Besides the above benefits, rosehip oil is packed with natural vitamins. Vitamin A, well-known to skincare enthusiasts, is one of the abundant vitamins in this oil. After using this product, I noticed improved skin texture and a brightening effect. Versatility Being an oil, it mixes well with other products and can also be used alone. In winter, when my usual routine feels dry, I add this oil to my final cream step. This increases hydration and combats dryness. Scent While I don't mind fragrances in skincare products, this one has a strong raw ingredient smell. It's somewhat like aged sesame oil... The scent is tolerable during application. This is one of my holy grail products. I use it alone in summer and mix it with moisturizer in winter. It's a product I always come back to, even after trying others. - th***************Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 4, 2024
Skin type: Dry Age group: Early 30s Texture and consistency: Though it's thin and oily, it feels lightweight and comfortable to use (see first and second photos for hand test) Effectiveness: I've tried a couple of other oils, but I haven't found anything quite like this yet. My dermatologist told me that applying oil as the final step in skincare forms a moisture barrier that prevents water loss. When my skin felt so dry it could crack in winter, I applied this oil as the last step, and it made a noticeable difference in reducing dryness! (Second and third photos show immediately after application) Scent: Almost unscented, with just a hint of a natural, plant-like aroma - not unpleasant at all, more like the scent of nature itself :) Pros: A drop or two goes a long way. I've been using it daily for months, and the bottle seems never-ending (see last photo for reference). It's incredibly cost-effective. There's nothing I particularly dislike about it. I think I'll stick to this oil from now on. Pro tip: Before bed, after completing your entire skincare routine, place a drop or two in your palm. Rub your palms together to spread the oil thinly, then gently press it onto your cheeks and forehead. Follow up with light tapping motions. Remember, it's an oil - think of it as laying on top of the skin rather than being absorbed! Not recommended for morning use - it can make your makeup separate :( - nr********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMar 25, 2024
It's a great product for everyday use. I mix a few drops with my cream during my morning and evening skincare routine. It absorbs well and provides excellent hydration, which I really appreciate. Apart from slightly better hydration, I didn't notice any other significant benefits... Is that all there is to it? - da******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 30, 2023
I've been using this for years. It's gentle and works well when combined with other light emulsions. It's not quite enough when used alone. Other than that, I can't find any faults with it. - le********Normal SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedNov 27, 2023
Honest review from my own purchase: - Great moisturizing oil for winter! - Mixes well with cream, just add a few drops - Perfect for dry, cracked heels - Useful for facial massages, and the reviews are fantastic - Not sure about its specific benefits, but it feels like it's doing something good - It's extremely oily, so it might stain your pillow if you sleep face down - Disappointing that I can't pinpoint any extraordinary effects - I've heard it's recommended to mix with cream before bedtime - Due to its rich texture, it's best used only at night - Promises baby-soft, hydrated skin - dp******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedNov 13, 2023
What I liked is that I only need to use a drop or two, and it absorbs really well into my skin. There's not really anything I dislike, but occasionally it doesn't mix well with my cream. - da********Dehydrated SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 9, 2023
Shelf life: Over two months. Mix 1-2 drops with your emulsion for daily evening use. Texture: Fluid consistency, typical oil feel. Scent: Nutty, slightly heavy aroma, but not overpowering. Impression: An oil suitable even for oily skin types. Mixing 1-2 drops with your emulsion enhances moisture retention. You'll notice a difference in your skin the morning after using it compared to days without. During winter, incorporating this oil into your routine can help maintain hydration levels. Drawbacks: Not recommended for those who dislike the feeling of a film on their skin. Applying too much can leave skin feeling heavy - you might want to wash it off immediately. Those with oily skin may not appreciate the sensation. - wo**********Oily SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresJul 29, 2023
The oil-based formula definitely absorbs well. When I apply it before bed, I wake up with smooth skin. As someone with oily skin, I feel a bit hesitant about applying oil to my face. I'll use this product for now, but I might try different ones in the future. It's not bad though. - so*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedNov 7, 2022
This oil offers excellent hydration and great value for money. Highly recommended for those with extremely dry skin. Despite having dry skin, I found it too heavy for my liking. I rarely reach for it as a facial oil, so I've been mixing it with body emulsion instead.
