I'm on my second bottle of this product, and I must say, the texture is quite unique! They say it gives you the effect of a mud mask. I've definitely noticed a reduction in blemishes and dead skin cells since I started using it. Apparently, it's also excellent at removing fine dust from your skin. It doesn't lather up very well, which is a bit disappointing. Also, if you're looking for a refreshing finish, I wouldn't recommend this one. - gp*********Combination SkinRecommendedJul 21, 2020
It contains small granules that seem to cleanse thoroughly without leaving any residue. My combination skin and my brother with blemishes both use it, and it works well for both of us. We're on our second bottle! There weren't really any downsides, but those with dry skin might find it a bit drying. Since I have oily skin, I tend to double cleanse. I use this as my first step and finish with Lush's Kalamazoo for my cleansing routine. - Hwahae UserOily SkinRecommendedMar 7, 2020
The texture is unique. It's not creamy, but rather feels very hydrating with a noticeable moisture content. Perhaps due to its texture, it's difficult to create a lather. I ended up wasting quite a bit trying to work up a foam. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 14, 2019
Since using this product, I haven't had any breakouts. I'm usually prone to small blemishes, but not anymore. People have even commented that my skin looks better. I still have some of my old foam cleanser to use up, but once it's finished, I'll definitely repurchase this one. Unlike regular foam cleansers, you can't just rub this vigorously in your hands. You need to carefully work it into a lather on your palms before applying. It can be a bit of a hassle, especially during busy mornings. - ta********Normal SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 31, 2019
With charcoal, clay, and deep cleansing for oily skin, this product throws around all the buzzwords you'd expect, and it even includes tea tree oil. Adult blemishes love to say hello when you're tired, and with large pores, a thorough cleanse is essential even as we age, so I decided to give it a try. As luck would have it, when I bought it, it was a complete newbie - not even on the website or Hwahae. I volunteered myself as a guinea pig and made the purchase. Usually, with products like these, you expect that squeaky-clean feeling after washing, right? And a texture that screams 'I'm full of clay!' - powdery and thick. But surprisingly, the texture is more slippery, slightly gel-like with a mix of charcoal powder and clay. When you wash with it, it doesn't leave you feeling squeaky or super soft, but rather smooth and slick. Too much squeakiness can make you worry about losing moisture, so this was unexpected. For a guy, cleansing is all about getting clean and avoiding breakouts, so mission accomplished. So far, there haven't been any issues. 1. The scent It's just... well, there's no comparison, it stinks. Subjectively speaking, of course. It's not the fragrance you'd expect from a charcoal or clay product, but rather a unique scent. It's not too overpowering, but personally, I was hoping for a more 'cleansing' type of scent. I thought it might be tea tree oil, but it's not even in that ballpark. 2. The texture While the texture prevents your face from feeling too squeaky clean, it doesn't lather well, and it separates on your hands. It's a bit... meh. They call it a gel, but honestly, it's so runny it's more like tadpole slime. The slipperiness is intense, making you wonder if you're actually cleaning properly. As a guy who doesn't wear makeup, I'm not sure - someone else might need to verify. 3. The price I'm just whining about this because I'm broke. For this price, the satisfaction level isn't quite there. Maybe I should've stuck with Manyo Factory's Soda Foam Cleanser. Make sure to work up a good lather when using it. It doesn't foam up easily at first. Don't rinse too much. The slipperiness might make you overdo it unintentionally. Remember, this product is naturally slippery.
