1,2 Before use photos 3,4 After use photos I started using this toner to combat winter dryness and visible dead skin cells. My skin was dehydrated underneath, but oily in areas like the nose, generally combination dehydrated skin. After shaking the toner and applying it with a cotton pad, wiping gently, the dead skin cells that used to pill under makeup disappeared, and the burning sensation reduced significantly. The lightweight formula, not being greasy, was perfect for use even on oily areas. There wasn't really anything negative to note. My skin texture improved so much that I can't find any downsides. Consistency is key! I think it's important to use it regularly. At first, I used it every 2-3 days, but now I use it daily, and I feel my skin has improved even more with daily use. - ha**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 29, 2024
As someone with atopic dermatitis and extremely dry skin, I've been a regular at the dermatologist every season change, constantly using prescribed medications. My skin is so sensitive that using the wrong cosmetics immediately causes itching and redness, which made me too scared to try any exfoliating products. I heard that seasonal skin flare-ups could be due to improper dead skin cell management, so after researching various products, I decided to try this one from a department store brand I trust. Amazingly, it calmed my skin down like magic! It exfoliates gently without any irritation - no stinging, no redness, just soft and smooth skin. I've found my holy grail! My skin feels silky, and I haven't had any flare-ups. It's even moisturizing, giving me a sense of comfort and relief. There's absolutely nothing I dislike about this product. Some people with oily skin might think it's too heavy, but I actually feel it helps balance oil and moisture. I think it's worth trying even for those with oily skin. Since it contains exfoliating ingredients, I was worried about potential irritation. So, I use it as an exfoliating toner in the evening, applying it gently with a cotton pad soaked generously with the product. Make sure to use plenty on the cotton pad to avoid irritation. If you try to save product by using less, it can actually irritate your face a lot! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 16, 2023
My skin feels smoother, and when used with gentle cotton pads, it seems to cleanse without much irritation, leaving my complexion looking clearer. Every time I use it, I'm reminded that the scent isn't particularly pleasant. The fragrance is quite strong, which can be off-putting. I've tried it with various cotton pads, and the multi-layered pure cotton ones seem to cause the least irritation! When I used thin cotton pads for toning, it felt too rough and actually caused my skin to become red. - wn**********Oily SkinRecommendedNov 18, 2022
I bought this during Kiehl's buy-one-get-one-free sale, and I'm really enjoying it so far. While some reviews mention it being heavy, I don't find it so, perhaps because I apply it with a cotton pad. Using it this way also helps improve skin texture. It's great at removing dead skin cells and excess sebum - it definitely does its job. The bumpy feeling from sebum around my nose is gone, leaving it smooth. I'm not sure if it's because of the cold, dry weather, but my skin feels a bit tight after use. So make sure to follow up with a good moisturizer. The instructions say it can be used twice daily, but personally, I noticed a slight tingling between my cheeks and nose when used too frequently. So I've been using it once a day in the evening or every other day. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 26, 2022
For a toner, it's incredibly nutrient-rich with a texture reminiscent of a hearty soup. It absorbs well, leaving your face feeling remarkably firm and supple. This ultra-nourishing, deeply hydrating toner is perfect as an intensive treatment when your skin is severely dehydrated. The price is undoubtedly the biggest drawback. However, for those with chronic skin conditions, Kiehl's products are almost like health supplements - it might be worth the investment to avoid discomfort. Keep in mind, due to its rich formulation, using it along with an emulsion daily might lead to blemishes. - pa******Combination SkinRecommendedJul 24, 2022
This product does an excellent job at managing dead skin cells while keeping the skin deeply moisturized. I was truly satisfied with its performance. Those with oily skin might find it a bit heavy or uncomfortable to wear. - Hwahae UserDry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedMay 13, 2022
I bought this product after seeing it on a blog. I purchased it along with the Calendula toner, but I've long since finished the Calendula one, and this is the only one left. Rather than using it daily, I use it about once a week when I feel like dead skin cells have built up. It has separate layers, so you need to shake it well before use. After shaking, it turns into a milky toner. I soak a cotton pad generously and gently press it onto my skin. It helps calm down the dead skin cells. It provides both exfoliation and hydration, so I think it's a godsend for dry skin types like mine rather than for oily skin. The bottle is quite large, so I expect it to last for quite a while! The heavy glass bottle... if you drop it on your foot... And like all Kiehl's products, the price is a bit steep for a toner. However, since it's not a daily product, if you use it once a week like me, it should last about a year, haha! While I'm satisfied with it, I don't plan to repurchase. - ll***Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 7, 2022
A unique formulation that combines toner and essence oil. As someone with extremely dry skin, I found this toner quite satisfying. This might be too oily for those with oily or combination skin types. It has a chemical-like scent. Using it as a toner mask occasionally during winter is great, as the rich feeling lasts for a long time. - sh****Combination SkinSensitive SkinMar 1, 2022
This exfoliating toner is gentle, non-irritating, and keeps my skin hydrated without drying it out I bought this after reading a blog post, but as someone with combination skin that doesn't have many dead skin cells (makeup doesn't flake), I couldn't really feel the exfoliating effects I probably won't repurchase this product at this price point just for exfoliation - 01******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 18, 2021
I'm writing this as I'm about to purchase this product for the third time. I've tried other similar products, but I'm planning to repurchase this one despite the higher price. I have combination skin and pregnancy-induced blemishes... I'm currently on a skincare diet. I use it only in the evening, following this routine: milky peeling toner - water essence - cream. 1. Skin texture improvement: I use it as an exfoliating toner every evening. I have a lot of sebum on my nose and chin area with blackheads and whiteheads, but when I gently wipe with this, the yellow gunk comes off! I feel so satisfied using it. 2. Inner Glow: After using this toner, my skin texture improves and I get a nice glow. This is something I couldn't experience with other toner products. 3. Hydration: Usually, exfoliating toners leave my skin feeling dry afterwards, but this one feels hydrating, probably because it's a cream+toner combo. The price... that's the only downside! It is expensive, and even though I only use it in the evening, it gets used up quickly when applied with cotton pads.
