I purchased this back in March 2020. It has a unique scent to it. Since I only use it once a week, it's taking a while to finish the bottle. The texture has some substance to it. While it makes my skin feel smooth, it also seems to increase skin sensitivity. The only aspect I truly appreciate about this product is its hydrating effect. - ra******Combination SkinRecommendedAug 22, 2020
As someone with super sensitive skin, this was my first AHA product, and surprisingly, it didn't cause any issues. My skin feels silky smooth after application. You need to follow up with a good moisturizer after using this. Other than that, I'm so satisfied that I can't really think of any downsides. - yo************Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 24, 2020
After trying a sample and finding it satisfactory, I purchased the full-size product. This essence performs the typical AHA role effectively. Being an essence-type product with a bit of viscosity, it's less irritating than toner formulations when used as a wipe-off product, which I appreciated. At 8%, it's not a low concentration that would be non-irritating for everyone. If you find it too strong when used alone, you could try mixing 2 pumps with your regular toner to create an exfoliating toner, or blend 2 pumps with a hydrating or moisturizing essence before applying cream. This method of diluting the concentration might work well. Even if it doesn't cause irritation, I don't recommend using it daily! There are no downsides. When it's on sale, the price is quite reasonable. When using AHA, stick to AHA alone without other exfoliants! Since I'm currently using Stievaa cream, I stop using it at least a day before and after using this product. Regardless of your exfoliation method, remember that your skin barrier is weakened after exfoliation, so be extra diligent with sun protection. If you don't protect your skin adequately from UV rays, you might end up with more pigmentation despite using products for improvement. - me*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinJul 15, 2020
I wrote 'None' in just two letters, but I was asked to write at least 20 characters. However, I think I've already exceeded 20 characters now. I can tolerate the tingling sensation, and it seems to subside with continued use. I've used over half the bottle, but I haven't noticed any significant or noticeable dead skin cell removal, which is what it claims to do. Reviews mention smoother skin the next day, but my skin just feels like it usually does. I can't really tell if it's smoother. After using more than half the bottle, I want to throw it away and switch to something else quickly. I've doubted its effectiveness multiple times while using it. I even wondered if this is really an exfoliator. While peeling gels don't give me a particular sensation either, I could say this is less irritating compared to peeling gels, as it absorbs into the skin, apart from the slight tingling. - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 22, 2020
To be honest, I can't think of anything particularly good to say. Even though my skin isn't usually super sensitive, it started tingling immediately upon application. For reference, I have dry skin. It stung as soon as I applied it. The instructions said to use it every evening, so I did, but it seems my skin didn't agree with it. My skin became irritated, and I'm still in the process of recovering. I think I'll have to limit use to once or twice a week. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 24, 2019
By removing dead skin cells, my skin feels softer, allowing moisturizers to absorb better. I'm already on my second bottle after repurchasing! When I apply it, my skin feels a bit of a burning sensation, so I'm only using it once or twice a week. Stock up during Isntree's sale periods. Isntree also offers reward points for daily app check-ins, so you can accumulate points easily. - af********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedOct 2, 2019
I use this with a BHA toner, and while the effect is subtle, it seems to help with removing dead skin cells. I can't recommend this for those with super sensitive skin as it might cause irritation. However, if your skin is in good condition, using it alongside a BHA toner could provide some assistance in exfoliating. Cleansing is crucial. If you cleanse thoroughly before using this product, you're likely to see better results. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedAug 8, 2019
It gently exfoliates dead skin cells without irritation, leaving my skin smooth and refreshed the next day. I love the results! It works well for me since I don't have sensitive skin. However, those with super sensitive skin might experience some tingling sensation. - ma********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 29, 2018
1. As a chemical exfoliant, it's less irritating than physical scrubs that can be harsh on the skin. 2. It comes in an essence form, so there's no need to rinse it off. Just pat it in and let it absorb well into your skin. 3. The morning after using it, you'll notice your skin texture feels incredibly smooth. It definitely works hard at removing dead skin cells! 1. I discovered that asiaticoside is derived from centella asiatica... Unfortunately, my skin doesn't agree with centella, and I tend to break out when using products containing it. At first, I thought 'Maybe my skin is just reacting to the exfoliation,' but then I realized it was the centella... Oh well. While it was effective, I didn't want to keep using a product with an ingredient that doesn't suit me, so I ended up giving it to my mother. What a shame! 1. Asiaticoside = purified centella asiatica = tiger grass 2. You might feel a slight tingling sensation when you first use it. But don't worry, with consistent use, you won't feel any discomfort at all! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 1, 2018
Since I started using this, my dead skin cells have significantly reduced and my skin has become incredibly smooth. It feels like my makeup applies better too! I was a bit worried it might be irritating for my sensitive skin, but I didn't experience any discomfort at all. I use it only at night after cleansing with toner. It stung when applied to my already sensitive skin. If you have super sensitive skin, it might be better to use it every other day or every two days! AHA is considered high or low concentration based on a 4% threshold. At 8%, it's quite potent, so for first-time users, it's recommended to start with once every 2-3 days for the first 1-2 weeks, then gradually increase to daily use as your skin adapts. Also, it can increase photosensitivity, so avoid using it in the morning or make sure to apply sunscreen diligently if you do use it during the day!
