After purchasing the Discovery fragrance from the official website and giving it a sniff, here's my personal take: 1) It's like someone ate a peach and threw up on a rubber mat... with a hint of green apple 2) The scent lasts about 5 minutes tops 3) A faint peach and green apple scent mixed with what reminds me of rubber gloves Rating: 1.3 (While it's not offensive, the longevity is terrible, and to me, it smells like rubber gloves.) - jn*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 30, 2024
I loved the cozy scent reminiscent of green apples and baby-like innocence. It has a light yet slightly heavy feel at the end, but it dissipates quickly, which is fine. I enjoyed how the musky notes subtly blend with apple and milk scents at the finish. It's like the crisp freshness of green apples meeting milk... Make sure to test it before purchasing. The fragrance can vary greatly depending on individual sense of smell. Testing is absolutely crucial... It's quite different from other perfumes, and the longevity isn't great. - hj****Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 24, 2023
I bought the Discovery set from the official website and tried out the scent. If you put your nose close, it smells like a cheap powder fragrance similar to Another 13. But if you step back and fan it, you might catch a very faint, soft apple-like scent that's barely there. The fragrance isn't distinct, so I had to spray more compared to other perfumes. Even now, the scent is so weak that I'm not sure what it really smells like. At first, I thought it was just perfume diluted with water. I was thinking, 'This is 50ml for $300?' But as I moved around, suddenly a pleasant scent started to emerge. It was like a mix of apple-flavored Demisoda and musk, and it smelled quite nice. It's definitely not Milkis, but more like Demisoda. It seems the fragrance needs time to diffuse in the air. The scent remains very subtle, with a lingering sweetness of green apple in the dry down, but it starts to mix heavily with musk. To describe the image it evokes, it's like a faint smell of a man who smoked earlier and then belatedly applied perfume. It's as if you're smelling a widower who uses fruit-scented fabric softener and good perfume. It feels unisex but also has a subtle masculine touch. But then again, sometimes there's just a hint of sweet apple scent in the dry down, and I'm not sure which is the true fragrance. While it doesn't project well and the scent is light, the longevity is surprisingly good. This perfume seems to be quite affected by body chemistry. Sometimes when I spray it, I just get a stomachache and can barely smell the fragrance. The scent is weak, so it's definitely not great value for money. - 51*****Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 28, 2023
Fresh, sweet green apple musk scent Confident summer pick - almost universally appealing fragrance Tearfully weak sillage, but surprisingly decent longevity (Can catch whiffs when nuzzling or accidentally brushing against arm) Recommended for subtle fragrance lovers 1. Don't buy if you want strong sillage and longevity Ambrette is a very personal scent, mostly detectable only to the wearer 2. Bottle design is disappointing, yet sometimes more charming because of it 3. Scent evolves rather quickly - ym******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresRecommendedSep 18, 2021
It has a refreshing green apple and citrus scent. The truly fruity and crisp green apple fragrance is delightfully prominent. With added musk notes, it gives a cool sensation, and the lingering scent finishes as a gentle, cozy skin-like aroma. It's a warm and comforting perfume that smells like your own skin, but better. The fragrance projection is weak, making it difficult for others around you to notice. The longevity is poor, as the scent fades away quickly after application. It's disappointing that the price is quite high considering the amount you get. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 11, 2021
- For those who want to experience a mellow green apple scent! While the trail doesn't change dramatically, immediately after spraying you'll detect a sparkling green apple with citrus notes, which quickly evolves into a milky aroma. At this stage, the scent resembles a sweet, milky green apple, reminiscent of apple-flavored bio candy or a creamy ice drink. - Being a plant-based musk, it's neither animalic nor heavy, allowing you to enjoy musk without any overwhelming sensations. - It's perfect for spritzing on comfortably, regardless of what you're wearing! - It's best not to have high expectations for the sillage. It's much more subtle than other Le Labo fragrances... actually, more subtle than most perfumes. However, it's not so faint that people around you won't remember it as your signature scent. I say this because I'm a professional lazy person - I don't decant it into travel bottles or spray more than three times when applying. The longevity isn't entirely disappointing. - co******Combination SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedNov 10, 2020
I found the scent to be sweet yet with a subtle hint of bitterness! While many say it smells like a baby, personally, I don't think it's a fragrance for younger age groups. It's a scent that brings to mind someone neat and comforting. As expected, the longevity and projection... Even when I go out after applying it, I'm the only one who knows I'm wearing it. Actually, sometimes I even forget that I put on this perfume when I left the house. If you apply it behind your ears, you can occasionally catch whiffs of the scent (limited to yourself). The ends of your hair work well too. But come to think of it, it probably won't make much difference if you're wearing a mask anyway. - fn******Normal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedNov 2, 2020
I tried out the Discovery Set that I ordered directly from overseas. The scent is described as green apples soaked in milk - the initial fragrance is fresh and zesty, while the lingering notes are more like a natural skin scent. It's such a subtle fragrance that you can spritz it on liberally without worrying about it being overpowering. If you prefer fragrances with a strong presence, this might not be the best choice for you. Personally, I recommend it!
