René Furterer Scalp Cooling Serum When used by someone with a sensitive, dry scalp: - While there weren't significant changes after 3 months of use, - It worked well during scalp gua sha sessions, - The refreshing mint scent made it perfect for summer use. If you have dandruff or flaky skin on your scalp, it might be worth trying. However, don't expect dramatic changes. For targeted treatment of dandruff or scalp flaking, a dermatologist's prescription might be more effective. There wasn't a notable difference in scalp condition before and after use. Considering its reputation and price point, this was slightly disappointing. I applied it as a lubricant during scalp gua sha. After applying the serum, gently massaging with a ceramic gua sha tool feels incredibly refreshing. - ha********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedAug 29, 2023
After washing my hair and towel-drying it, I applied small amounts to my fingertips and massaged it into my scalp before blow-drying. It felt wonderfully refreshing every time the air hit my scalp. Apart from the nice cooling effect, I didn't notice any other special benefits. Also, I was afraid to use too much, even though it felt refreshing, as I didn't want to ruin my freshly washed hair. - ch******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinApr 8, 2023
It gives a wonderfully moisturizing sensation on the scalp. After I went wild with water activities in Saipan, my scalp got terribly sunburned. I put this in the fridge and applied it - the burning sensation subsided quickly. Even without refrigeration, the product itself has a cooling effect. Don't apply this before going out. When you touch your scalp after application, it feels fine, but visually it can look a bit greasy. Also, the price is quite steep. - ia*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedNov 23, 2022
Cooling effect: It's not an intense cooling sensation, but a pleasant coolness. Texture: Not sticky or heavy, doesn't make hair clumpy at all. Noticeably reduces scalp itchiness when applied. Scent: Has a refreshing xylitol-like fragrance. Even after some time, it prevents scalp odor. Price: While I like the product itself, the value for money is questionable. It makes me wonder if it's worth the cost. Ingredients: I'm not sure why they felt the need to add colorants... - ky****Combination SkinAcne SkinOct 13, 2022
It does have a cooling effect, but that's about it. It pills up easily, which discourages me from using it. Plus, it doesn't really help reduce the burning sensation. Not impressed. - pa*******Oily SkinRecommendedJul 8, 2022
I absolutely love this product... It's so refreshing! If you have scalp inflammation, this will be your saving grace! Hmm... The price? Well, if you buy it directly from overseas, it's actually quite affordable. There's really no downside to speak of. After washing your hair at night, apply it to your scalp and sit in front of a fan. It's pure bliss, I tell you! - eg*****Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 19, 2021
1. Easy-to-use narrow opening 2. Decent cooling effect (though some might find it a bit mild) 3. Effective for soothing sun-exposed and hot scalps! 4. Refreshing mint scent 5. Not overly rich (doesn't leave the scalp greasy for a scalp product) 1. As someone who believes in using ample product for best results, I find it a bit pricey for frequent, generous application 1. Store in the refrigerator 2. Use other Aestera products, wait one minute, then shampoo 3. For extreme cooling, shampoo focusing on the scalp with Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap before use 4. After use, blow cool air onto the scalp - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 25, 2021
I was looking for something more hydrating than an ampoule but less heavy than a cream, so I decided to try this serum. The texture: it feels cool for half a second before absorbing into the skin. While it might not live up to its price point, it does feel more substantial than typical serums and seems to have a faster soothing effect. I'll need to use it a bit longer to be sure, but so far it's pretty good. I'd recommend this serum as a daily soothing product for the transitional season into fall. The cooling effect isn't as impressive as advertised. The more I use it, the more I feel slightly misled, which is why I'm deducting two stars. While the soothing effect is decent, there are many good Korean products at this price point... I do recommend it, but think twice before purchasing. The transparent front part, similar to an ampoule, makes it easy to dispense. Here's a pro tip: while it's obvious to store it in a shaded area, I've noticed that the cooling effect seems more pronounced when you both store and use it in a cool, shaded spot. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedMar 3, 2021
The cooling effect is outstanding. When applied, it feels as refreshing as if you're holding ice against your skin. This sensation seems to last for about an hour. I was hoping for a strong moisturizing effect, but it doesn't seem to be particularly powerful in that regard. The product comes with a dropper-style applicator, and the instructions suggest applying it directly to the scalp. However, this makes it difficult to control the amount, often resulting in using too much at once. I found it works better to squeeze some onto my fingers and spread it evenly.
