I'm currently using Goodal's Houttuynia Cordata cream and essence, so I naturally wanted to try their foam cleanser as a matching product. I decided to buy it right away when I saw it didn't contain citric acid in the ingredients list. I've been using it morning and evening. My makeup isn't particularly heavy, but I use milk cleanser first, followed by this foam cleanser as a second step, just for your reference. 1. It's slightly acidic, which is good for the skin. What's great is that it doesn't have that typical slippery feel, yet it still has a nice texture and cleanses effectively. 2. Looking at the photo, I was worried the particles might be irritating. However, I personally didn't feel any scrub-like sensation at all, which I actually prefer. It's very gentle. 3. Once again, Houttuynia Cordata works well for me. It really suits my skin. If I had to mention something, I noticed that orange peel oil is listed in red among the ingredients. Try it as part of your Houttuynia Cordata skincare routine! - kh*****Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessJun 5, 2024
It seems gentle and mildly acidic, plus it lathers well, which is great There's no particular soothing effect or anything like that. It's just gentle, that's all - li********Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedFeb 17, 2024
It feels much more hydrating and gentle compared to the Vitamin C cleansing foam from the same line. The cleansing effectiveness, scent, and value for money are all not bad! It's great for double cleansing after using a cleansing oil. It's a bit disappointing that it contains two ingredients that aren't ideal for sensitive skin. This is perfect for morning cleansing or as a second step in your double cleansing routine. - su*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 22, 2024
This product is a staple for both my daughter in the height of summer and myself with sensitive skin. We've already repurchased it multiple times. There's nothing to complain about. We keep repurchasing and using it happily. It works well for my daughter's teenage acne-prone skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 7, 2024
After using it, my skin becomes incredibly soft, and my blemishes have cleared up so much that people often comment on how much my skin has improved. There's not really anything I dislike about it, but the one thing that might be hit or miss for some people is the scent. It has a medicinal smell. - sa******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedDec 15, 2023
It's gentle, soft, and moisturizing. I think it would be perfect for winter use. For oily skin in summer, the cleansing effectiveness isn't quite up to par. - qz********Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedDec 2, 2023
The gentle pH balance helps prevent blemishes and leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean Water tends to collect in the lid, so you need to dry it out. Also, there are some ingredients that those with super sensitive skin should be cautious about - ch**********Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedNov 26, 2023
- For a low pH cleanser, it's surprisingly effective at deep cleansing. I usually don't like low pH cleansers that are too slippery, so I actually prefer this. As you use it more, you'll find it's not overly cleansing but just right! - The scent is slightly orangey...? It's a familiar smell but I can't quite place it. Maybe it's houttuynia cordata? I personally like it. - After using this, I feel like my skin texture has improved! While the cleansing foam itself doesn't scream 'I'm houttuynia cordata!', there's definitely a sense that it's helping with those tiny bumps on my skin. I'll absolutely be repurchasing this! One of the benefits of low pH cleansing foams is that they don't leave your skin feeling tight after washing, but I did notice a teeny tiny bit of dryness. **Update after longer use** That dryness I mentioned was only temporary. After that, I didn't experience any dryness at all! It's pretty much on par with other low pH cleansing foams. Some reviews mention irritation from the granules, but if you use a Daiso foam maker to create lather, you can cleanse gently without any irritation! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 4, 2023
Despite having severe acne-prone skin, I experienced no breakouts, tightness, or tingling after use. It left my skin feeling hydrated, making it perfect for daily use! The cleansing effectiveness is a bit lacking. For those who wear heavy makeup, I recommend using this as part of a double cleansing routine! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedAug 19, 2023
It feels so refreshing after washing my face! The scrub particles inside seem to effectively remove dead skin cells. I can't think of any specific downsides, but my sister with dry skin mentioned her face felt slightly dry after using it. If you use it with a damp sponge, it makes your face feel super soft.
