Based on shade 22 Lagshi for deep undertones (not suitable for fluorescent tones, but has a bit of a fluorescent touch on the lips)... The color is beautiful, really beautiful, but it doesn't suit me. As soon as I apply it, it gives a slight 'toein' effect with a dewy finish. It seems brighter and cooler than my skin tone. It might look better after makeup. This would be great for those with neutral undertones. For me, it leans too pink and purple. I'll have to use it as a base lip color. The color difference between my hand and lips is so noticeable, haha! It reminds me of the 'See See How' lipstick. I know this is a famous product for deep undertones, but it's disappointing that it doesn't suit me. It's not a problem with the product itself, but it really, really doesn't match my complexion. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedAug 1, 2022
The color enhances your natural lip tone, making it look more vibrant. Surprisingly, it doesn't accentuate dead skin cells. It smudges well for a soft, blended look. The staying power isn't particularly impressive. Other than that, there aren't any significant drawbacks to mention. - el*******Dehydrated SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 22, 2022
From top to bottom in the photo, we have All Yours, Surrender, Morocco, and Dolce Vita. The first image shows application using the tip, while the second shows finger blending. The last photo displays Dolce Vita, Dolce Vita lip pencil, and Valkyrie lip pencil from top to bottom. These lipsticks glide on smoothly with an initial creamy, glossy finish that magically transforms into a velvety texture when blended. The colors are beautifully muted yet vibrant, allowing for versatile looks depending on application intensity. Dolce Vita has a stronger pink undertone compared to its pencil counterpart. The pencil version leans towards a reddish Marsala pink-red, while the Air Matte lip Dolce Vita gives off a dusty rose vibe with a hint of strawberry milk. Note that the Dolce Vita pencil appears lighter in the photo. While NARS' signature velvet case is lovely, it's disappointing how easily the black portions show fingerprints. These lipsticks blend effortlessly, making them perfect for mixing and matching. All Yours works great as a base. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinJun 23, 2022
I bought this thinking it would be similar to a lip pencil color I already knew, but they're only alike in name - totally different shades! In photos, it looked like a deep grape color, but when applied, it's more of a beige-purple? Think of it as a pink with an intense white undertone. It's a challenging color to pull off, so I'd recommend testing it in-store before buying. Not sure if it's common to all NARS cases, but even with careful maintenance, it always gets dirty and won't clean up. Anyway, it feels incredibly lightweight, like you're barely wearing anything, which explains the 'Air Matte' name. It sets to a blurry, powdery finish that would be perfect for summer. While I haven't experienced much transfer, it always seems to fade within a few hours. It might work better as a base lip color rather than on its own. The tube-like packaging is simple and to my taste, and it's light, making it great for carrying around. The staying power is disappointingly low. There's a strong white undertone that creates a distinct 'yogurt effect' where the white seems to float on top. It fades and breaks down into a yogurt-like mess within hours. The way it emphasizes dead skin cells is worse than expected, so I rarely use it. The color also tends to darken and change over time. Too much product comes out of the tip at once, so you need to dab some off before applying. If you're planning to buy NARS Dolce Vita, I'd suggest going for the lip pencil or another tint instead. Rather than using it alone, it works beautifully as a base lip color. When layered under other products, it gives a subtle, peachy vibe that's quite pretty. - se***********Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 11, 2022
The color was absolutely fantastic! As someone with cool undertones, it was a perfect match for me. It's a bit on the sheer side. This could be both a pro and a con - those who prefer more intense pigmentation might not be as pleased. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedMay 3, 2022
I absolutely adore this product! The color payoff is softer and more natural than a lip pencil, with a subtle hint of grey undertones. When you blend it well, it gives you that 'wow, my makeup looks amazing today!' feeling. Interestingly, when layered with the Dolce Vita lip pencil, it creates a truly stunning effect. It's just beautiful, honestly. There's a bit of a yogurt-like texture issue. If you haven't exfoliated thoroughly, it can accentuate dry patches. You really need to blend it well to avoid this... No special tricks here - it's just a great everyday item that goes well with any look. - bo******Dry SkinRecommendedNov 28, 2021
The color is perfect for autumn and it absorbs beautifully~ However, it might be a bit drying when used alone If you have dry lips, it may accentuate dead skin cells... - pa********Oily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 13, 2021
I have lips that tend to absorb lipstick colors, so I usually need to neutralize my natural lip color for the lipstick to show up well. My lips are prone to emphasizing dead skin cells and tend to leave marks on teeth. Dead skin cells: I was thrilled that it didn't dry out my lips and felt so soft. Application: True to its 'Air' name, it glides on smoothly. Color payoff: The color shows up beautifully! It's a classic muted rose MLBB (My Lips But Better) shade. Compared to the Lip Pencil Dolce, this has less of a red undertone and leans more pink. If you prefer the Lip Pencil color, you might want to skip this one. - hy******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 5, 2021
The unique velvety formula creates a soft, powdery texture on the lips. It doesn't stain and the color seems deeper than the pencil version. It's a solid choice for everyday wear. Hmm... It doesn't feel particularly appealing at this price point. I'd say it's more of a 'use it because the color is pretty' kind of product. I recommend getting Dolce Vita in pencil form instead. There's something different about this one... it has a more muted appearance.
