I'm afraid I didn't find many positives to report. I have combination dehydrated skin that's super sensitive and prone to redness. My skin particularly reacts to oils, heavy moisturizers, strong vitamin formulations, and alcohol-based products. While pores are a concern, I've noticed they've naturally improved with age as my skin has become less oily. Since sunscreens often cause blemishes for me, I'm always on the lookout for hypoallergenic options. So far, Hera's new blue tube sunscreen seems to work best for me! I'm also the type whose lips react badly to Chanel and YSL lip products - they make my lips peel. Even Nuxe's natural honey lip balm causes a reaction. Bepanthen lip balm is the only one that truly agrees with me. It's my absolute must-have! For hair care, I prefer products that leave my hair feeling clean and fresh rather than those with a moisturizing after-feel. I tend to opt for hair essences over rinse-out conditioners. The color is a bit odd and ambiguous. Even when I try to mix it with lighter shades or colors that match my complexion, it somehow ends up looking dull on my skin. - my*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 21, 2024
As someone with dry skin, I found mixing this with a serum when it felt too dry was perfect!! The staying power is incredible, and it provides excellent coverage!! I'm extremely satisfied!!! The only slight disappointment is that the pump...? needs to be purchased separately. If it feels too dry, I recommend mixing it with a serum - it works wonders! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedNov 19, 2023
The semi-matte formula is comfortable to wear and doesn't dry out the skin, making it a good all-around choice. The coverage is less than expected, and there's a slight tendency for darkening. - fo*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 13, 2023
Skin adhesion is top-notch, coverage is excellent, blemish concealment is superb, and it looks incredibly natural. The color is truly beautiful... As someone with blemish-prone skin who has tried all the high-end foundations from Estée Lauder, NARS, YSL, Lancôme, Espoir, Hera, Givenchy, and other renowned brands, I've come back to MAC. MAC Studio Fix Fluid is the original foundation. No matter how good others claim to be, I always reach for this on important days. Apply this and set it with powder, and the longevity is unbeatable. The downside is you need to buy a pump separately. It also has a chemical scent. For MAC foundations, it's crucial to test them in-store before purchasing. Otherwise, they might look cakey or oxidize. While cushions or foundations from Olive Young can be somewhat forgiving if the shade is slightly off, MAC foundations have such high pigmentation that if the color doesn't match perfectly, it can look really unnatural or odd. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 23, 2023
There's an incredible range of color options, so you can definitely find one that matches your complexion. The coverage is just right, and the staying power is surprisingly good! 1. It's really hard to get the product out... You have to tap the bottom of the bottle multiple times to get anything out. 2. If you apply it in the morning, you'll need to touch up your makeup around lunchtime. - dl****Dry SkinInner DrynessRecommendedNov 24, 2022
Texture: Thick and creamy consistency Coverage: Excellent, effectively conceals the T-zone and blackheads Moisture: For a high-coverage product with a powdery finish, it doesn't cause excessive deep dryness It has the typical drawbacks of a high-coverage foundation No major flaws that would make it unusable - ku*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 13, 2022
Among department store foundations, this one offers great accessibility at an affordable price. While other brands' foundations average around 70,000-90,000 won, MAC's is priced in the 50,000 won range, making it quite budget-friendly. Before purchasing, I wanted to try the most popular yet affordable option among well-known department store foundations, and that's why I chose this. I'm writing this review after using about half the bottle. For reference, I typically use shades 21-22. I have blemishes, pigmentation, and redness, and I bought this online. Fortunately, the color matched my skin well! It applies thinly with excellent adherence, spreading smoothly. It goes on moisturizing but finishes semi-matte. As you can see in the photos, I didn't use concealer, just one layer of foundation, yet the coverage is impressive. Its yellow undertone effectively covers blemishes and redness. It has good staying power and doesn't cake up. This product is incredibly satisfying for me. The downside is that you have to purchase the pump dispenser separately. I wonder why they don't just sell it together with the foundation. You can mix it with face oil and apply it with a foundation brush for a very natural, glowing-from-within look. I've found that the skin finish varies depending on what you mix it with! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 24, 2020
After 4 years of being a foundation nomad, I've finally found the perfect one for me! As someone with acne-prone skin on my chin and cheeks, and dry skin overall, the foundations I've used before (Estée Lauder, April Skin, etc.) would often look patchy and emphasize dead skin cells in winter. While April Skin's ingredients seemed good and didn't cause more blemishes, the Estée Lauder foundation would make my skin break out and wasn't suitable for my dry skin. Then, during a MAC sale, I bought their foundation and powder compact. The oil content was just right, and especially when used together, my skin looked completely matte! (I'm not a fan of dewy makeup.) Despite not knowing the ingredients beforehand, it didn't cause more blemishes. Even in winter, there was no patchiness, and as time passed, it seemed to meld with my skin's natural oils for an even better finish. It's the kind of foundation that looks more beautiful as it settles into your skin. Sigh... everything's great, but when you first buy it, there's no pump! I had to purchase one separately on Coupang. I tried using it without the pump for a month or two, but found it inconvenient. I think it works best when used with a powder compact! It sets well and gives a great finish, making these two products a perfect match. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedJun 18, 2020
I rarely use foundation, but I absolutely love this one after trying it for the first time. I have fair skin that tends to get a bit red when it's hot, and NC21 is perfect for me. It's a bit inconvenient that they don't sell the pump separately. It would be great if they offered it as an option. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedJun 9, 2020
Holy grail foundation! I've been using this for 4 years straight. No darkening, long-lasting, and it applies so thinly and lightly that it becomes one with my skin - I love it so much! I've tossed out several others, but this one's a keeper. I'm even collecting the empty bottles. Curious though, why do the empties have different colors when they're all the same shade? It's hard to find NC12 shade in stores. While the coverage isn't exceptional, it's unbeatable for evening out the complexion. Why is the pump sold separately though? Of course, I buy a new one every time.
