When I first opened the bottle and squeezed some shampoo into my hand, the fragrance was absolutely divine. It's truly an amber vanilla scent - rich and utterly lovable. However, the moment it touched my scalp...!!! I used to hate Kundal products after their body emulsion caused a skin reaction in the past. But this time, I fell for the amber vanilla scent. Seeing the product page mentioned a reformulation, I hoped it would be okay and made a purchase. First use - I was in a great mood, inhaling the sweet scent while shampooing. But after towel-drying, where was the fragrance? Even after using the matching amber vanilla essence, I couldn't smell it. Only after blow-drying did I detect a very faint scent. I was disappointed, but that was just the beginning... Second use - my scalp felt slightly oily and started itching in spots. When I touched the itchy areas, I felt two large, bump-like protrusions. Third use - immediately after shampooing, my scalp smelled. Two inflamed blemishes appeared along my hairline, and my hair texture became terribly frizzy. I'm too scared for a fourth use, so I'm buying a different shampoo. What a waste of money, even though it was cheap. I poured it down the drain, which is also a shame for the environment. I wish I could use it as a perfume instead. From now on, I won't trust Kundal shampoos. I recommend Kundal discontinue all their shampoos and skincare products, and focus on making room fragrances like diffusers or candles instead. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedDec 5, 2020
Everyone I meet compliments the fragrance. It lathers up nicely too. I've almost used it all up and plan to repurchase. It's perfect for my normal-to-dry skin type, but it might be a bit too rich for those with oily skin. I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin types. - de******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 8, 2020
I can't believe there are no reviews for this Anua shampoo yet! The lather and cleansing effectiveness are just like the Kundal shampoo, but oh my, the fragrance... I didn't realize how much I loved amber scents until after I washed my hair! As someone with a strong body odor, I often use products with great fragrances, but this shampoo's scent is truly one-of-a-kind. It faintly resembles Laura Mercier's amber scent. Although the fragrance doesn't last too long... I still give it a big thumbs up for this amazing scent!!! The pump is extremely... uncooperative. After receiving it, I spent two days just trying to get the pump to work properly. - re******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 26, 2020
I can't believe the reviews were so negative! The fragrance of this product is absolutely delightful. It has a rich vanilla scent that's far from headache-inducing - it's truly sophisticated. Even with my oily scalp, I didn't experience any greasiness or blemishes, and it cleanses effectively! I've noticed some back acne appearing. However, I can't definitively blame the shampoo for this, as it could be due to hormonal changes or other factors. - eo******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAug 21, 2020
- The variety of fragrances and their intensity make this an excellent choice for scented shampoos. - I'm not sure if the shampoo itself is good. No matter how much I rinse, my hair feels slippery, gets greasy quickly, and I develop what looks like dandruff or dead skin cells. - The Amber Vanilla scent has a somewhat medicinal smell to it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 7, 2020
My hair was severely damaged and completely dehydrated from perms and dyes, but I stumbled upon this product by chance. It's great value for money with a generous amount and pleasant scent. The best part is how it significantly reduced the brittleness of my hair. I recommend using it alongside a treatment. The pump dispenser doesn't allow you to use the product to the very end. Even when there's a lot left, it won't come out. Also, those with oily hair might find it leaves a greasy feeling after some time. - ki*****Dry SkinInner DrynessMar 19, 2020
The scent was pleasant, and I definitely noticed my hair felt softer. I was so satisfied with the ingredients when I initially checked that I bought a bunch. However... The ingredients have changed significantly from before, and there are now many harmful substances. It's disappointing that it's not naturally derived anymore. This shampoo alone makes my hair feel soft. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinNov 12, 2019
First off, the scent is lovely. It has a pleasant coconut fragrance. Apart from the aroma, I'm not sure about other aspects. When I wash my hair with this shampoo, it feels soft. There were quite a few disappointing aspects. For starters, perhaps due to its weak cleansing effectiveness, my scalp became very itchy and dry. I used both the shampoo and treatment together, but my scalp was itchy, and by the afternoon, my hair felt greasy. When I switched to a different shampoo, these issues improved. - el**********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 19, 2019
To be honest, I wasn't planning on buying Kundal shampoo as it didn't have the texture I wanted, but I just couldn't resist the vanilla scent. The lather is soft and rich, which I love. It's great for use during seasonal changes when hair gets dry or damaged from external factors. My hair isn't particularly damaged, but this shampoo alone leaves it soft and moisturized. When I'm too busy for a full treatment, Kundal shampoo works well on its own. For those with damaged hair or who want extra hydration, finishing with a hair serum makes hair even softer without any stickiness. As I have sensitive skin, I've been trying to use low pH products from cleansers to body wash and shampoo. Kundal's shampoo and body wash are low pH and come in a wide range of scents, making it fun to choose and use different varieties. While I like Kundal products, as someone with an oily scalp, I find the shampoo a bit heavy for summer use. The ingredients have been reformulated, removing shea butter and several extracts for a more streamlined formula. It would be great if this new version could satisfy those with oily scalps too. My biggest issue is that it's too runny. The cherry blossom and pink grapefruit versions I used a few months ago had some viscosity, but this new order is so thin it drips when pumping. Since I alternate with other shampoos and only use this every few days, the nozzle sometimes gets a bit clogged, causing it to squirt out unexpectedly. (Update) The formula was recently updated. Honey and macadamia nut extracts have been increased from 2000ppm to 5000ppm each. I was hoping the shea butter would be removed, but it's still there. They've also added more natural extracts. For the next update, I hope they improve the shampoo's consistency. Looking at Kundal's inquiry board, there are as many complaints about faulty pumps as there are about shipping. However, most of these aren't actually defects. I've used over 10 bottles, and only recently had an issue with a body emulsion pump that wouldn't work. Remembering a response to another customer's inquiry, I realized it wasn't faulty. I opened and closed the cap, gave it a little tap, and the pump started working. According to Kundal's official response: 'Sometimes during shipping, the cap may loosen, preventing the pump from opening. This can be fixed by fully opening and closing the cap connected to the product container, then turning the pump for normal use.' Many buyers mistakenly think the pump is defective and write inquiries and reviews about it. It would be helpful if Kundal included an explanation and photos about the pump on the product page. This would prepare buyers to handle pump issues without panic and save the company from having to explain repeatedly via phone or text. - ss********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresSep 16, 2019
Before checking the Hwahae reviews, I bought 5 bottles based solely on a previous video by Dippa saying it's good for oily scalps. They had a 'buy 4 get 1 free' deal, and I initially planned to choose just 4, but somehow ended up selecting 5 at checkout. Even before the delivery arrived, I deeply regretted my purchase after reading the Hwahae reviews, sensing it wouldn't suit me. Reasons for giving it 2 stars: 1. The scent is nice. It's described as amber vanilla, but it's very similar to the coconut(?) body wash from On*Baz*. 2. It lathers better than expected. Drawbacks: 1. Faulty packaging. Remember I bought 5 bottles? Well, I wanted to try the baby powder scent first, but when I turned the pump, nothing came out! I had to open the entire cap every time I showered. The shampoo was so slippery that I couldn't control the amount, and it kept sliding off my hands. Within a day, half the bottle was gone. After a few days, I switched to this amber vanilla scent out of frustration, but this one started leaking from the pump as soon as I opened it. 2. Poor cleansing power (not recommended for oily, sensitive scalps). Maybe because it's low pH, but there's no squeaky clean feeling when rinsing. It feels like it doesn't cleanse thoroughly. I don't have extremely oily hair, but it leaves me feeling unsatisfied and not refreshed. However, it's a double-edged sword for those with oily, sensitive scalps and damaged hair. The moisturizing ingredients like shea butter and honey can help tame frizzy hair, but they can also cause acne and sebum buildup on the scalp. It might be okay for those with dry scalps and damaged hair. Tips: - If you have an oily and sensitive scalp, rinse thoroughly. - Try to wash your face after shampooing to minimize the risk of shampoo-induced acne. To further prevent acne from shampooing, I add a drop of tea tree oil. I'm not sure about its effectiveness yet as I just tried it today.
