- The lightweight formula doesn't feel heavy right after application. (Highly recommended as a summer sunscreen.) - It doesn't produce excessive oiliness. (Recommended for oily or combination skin types.) - The runny texture absorbs quickly into the skin. - The artificial scent takes some getting used to. (A friend mentioned it smells like cement... but that's just their personal opinion.) - When applied with fingers, it can sometimes cause foundation to pill slightly, so I use it with a puff. (However, the puff tends to absorb a lot of sunscreen, so you might go through the product quickly.) - The need to shake the product before use can be a bit of a hassle. If you squeeze the product directly onto the back of your hand after shaking, sometimes only an oily liquid comes out. In this case, shake it again before using. It's easy to apply on areas other than the face, especially the neck. This makes it great for quick application when you're heading to the pool or beach, saving you time. - so*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsNov 18, 2022
Skin type: Combination in winter, combination dehydrated in summer / Large pores and blackheads / Seborrheic dermatitis / Avoid pore-clogging ingredients and oils, sensitive to oiliness / Prone to skin heat, often use salt water or toner packs in summer / Use sheet masks 1-2 times a week ✍️ Preferred sunscreen type: Lightweight chemical sunscreen Before the pandemic, I used chemical sunscreens daily as they work well with foundation. I preferred them over physical sunscreens due to the heavy feeling, white cast, and blemishes the latter can cause. However, I learned that sunscreen could cause eye irritation, and since I'm wearing masks and not applying makeup as often, I've started trying physical sunscreens too. ✍️ Quick summary: Hybrid sunscreen, lightweight feel, runny texture, slight brightening effect from white cast, moisturizing finish. ✏️ Application: Excellent Anessa sunscreen has a runny texture. It applies smoothly but feels more powdery than Sun Amoule. ✏️ Finish: Moisturizing Among hybrid sunscreens, some apply smoothly but finish powdery. This one is incredibly moisturizing. It's rich but not greasy or slippery - it's a dewy kind of moisturizing. There's a slight film-like feeling, but it's like applying a chemical sunscreen and blotting with a tissue. It should work well under foundation. ✏️ UV protection: Excellent High SPF, and being a hybrid sunscreen, it offers both chemical and physical protection. ✏️ White cast There is some white cast, though not as much as physical sunscreens. It becomes more natural-looking after a while. ✏️ Scent Strong cosmetic fragrance. It might be polarizing. ✏️ No eye irritation ✏️ Ease of removal: Low Being a hybrid sunscreen with good adherence, you'll need to double cleanse to remove it thoroughly. 1. The perfume-like scent is extremely strong. 2. The white cast might be divisive for those who don't prefer it. 3. With 5 caution ingredients, it may not be suitable for sensitive skin. 4. Even in November, my T-zone gets oily after a while. 5. At 38,000 won for 50ml, it's pricier than some alternatives. 6. It tends to settle into creases around the nose and emphasize dead skin cells. 7. It seems to clog pores. My blackheads and whiteheads have worsened. 8. It's not easily removed with foam cleanser alone. Quick comparison of chemical, physical, and hybrid sunscreens: ✔️ Chemical sunscreens: Chemically absorb and dissipate UV rays, smooth application, good for makeup longevity, may irritate sensitive skin, potential for eye irritation. ✔️ Physical sunscreens: Physically reflect UV rays, immediate protection after application, tend to apply dryly and thickly, may leave a white cast. ✔️ Hybrid sunscreens: Combine benefits of both types. Offer broad-spectrum protection against UV rays that single types might miss. Contain both physical and chemical blocking agents, so those with sensitive skin should be cautious. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
It absorbs well without being sticky, leaving a soft and smooth finish. Perfect for summer use! I have super sensitive skin. When I first apply it, there's a strong alcohol scent, which might be why my face gets a bit red after application. - ki**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 13, 2022
Skin type: Combination dehydrated skin with severe deep dryness and sensitivity This sunscreen has a powdery finish, making it perfect for summer use. It applies lightly and thinly with minimal stickiness. It brightens the skin naturally without leaving a white cast, so it could work well as a base. The application is smooth, and it absorbs well into the skin. My skin feels comfortable all day long without any deep dryness. However, it does cause a bit of eye irritation, which is somewhat disappointing. - 01*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedSep 7, 2022
I've been using this as a foundation-free option and it's working well for me. I haven't experienced any blemishes, and compared to other sunscreens, it has a more powdery finish. It's great for daily use. After checking the ingredients on Hwahae, I'm a bit disappointed. I'm wondering if I should discontinue using it. - ju******Normal SkinRecommendedAug 19, 2022
It has a natural brightening effect and leaves a soft, matte finish, making it perfect for summer when you only want to apply one product! Unlike many sun milks that are lightweight but tend to pill, this one doesn't pill at all, whether you're applying it for the first time or reapplying later. I really love that about it. So far, I haven't found anything disappointing about using this product. I highly recommend it to anyone who's been wanting to try a sun milk. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedAug 8, 2022
I love how it makes my skin feel so soft and fresh! It applies thinly, giving a lightweight feel. Like all sunscreens (maybe because of wearing masks), it tends to make my skin produce more oil... - go******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 28, 2022
The texture is incredibly lightweight and leaves my skin feeling soft and velvety. It's like wearing nothing but a silk slip. Perfect for everyday use. While I have no complaints about how it feels on the skin, I'm shocked to see five concerning ingredients. Sadly, I have to deduct a star for that. 3.5 out of 5. It doesn't look cakey even when applied on bare skin. It naturally envelops your complexion. However, it lacks long-lasting hydration, so you need to prep your skin well with a good skincare routine.
