This is my lifelong holy grail product. It's an absolute must-have that I can't live without. I used to only use brightening moisturizers because I hated how BB creams would transfer onto my hands and clothes. Back when tone-up creams weren't as popular, there weren't many products that could provide sun protection. I searched everywhere for the right product for me, had some failures, and even had to throw away products that didn't suit me. After extensive research, I decided to give Ameli a try. I first started using the Snow White Cushion, which is now discontinued. At first, Ameli products might seem to sit on top of the skin, but over time, they truly blend seamlessly into my complexion. It can feel a bit drying, but if you have a solid skincare routine underneath, it's perfect. Back then, it was only available in limited quantities during winter, and I would wait for it to be restocked without using any other products - that's how much I loved it. After the Snow White Cushion was discontinued, I switched to the Purple Cushion, which suits my skin perfectly. My complexion has a slightly yellow undertone and tends to get redness. The Purple Cushion helps balance that out. This is one of those products I absolutely can't do without. It's a must-have for work, never causes blemishes or pilling, and absorbs naturally into the skin. Rather than applying it all over, it's better to use a small amount and apply it like a highlighter to specific areas. This product really shouldn't be discontinued either! I'm using it very happily. It would be great if they offered a mini cushion size for convenient summer use! Apply a small amount all over by gently patting it in, then add another thin layer to areas where you want more of a highlighting effect. - ni**********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 21, 2025
➰ Brightening effect - Pretty decent, but if you want to go brighter, it can get a bit drying ➰ Makeup longevity - Controlling the amount is crucial - Adding just a bit more can lead to dryness (for my combination dehydrated skin) - If you nail the amount, makeup stays put quite well ➰ Dark spot coverage - Definitely good - However, another brand's product seems slightly better (V*l S*renity) - Want to apply more, but it can make makeup slide off... ➰ Seasonal suitability - Might crack in winter - Recommended for summer ➰ Blemishes - Never experienced breakouts while using ➰ Packaging issues - Not sure if it's just me, but the refill keeps separating. Really inconvenient during use ➰ Puff applicator - Using the built-in puff feels like it's stripping away all your skincare - Leads to dryness ➰ Preventing makeup breakdown - Use toner pads for about 10 minutes → apply a bit of serum → follow with a hydrating sunscreen before applying base makeup ➰ Puff recommendation - The built-in puff was really not great for me - Recommend the Daiso water drop puff → it's somewhat more hydrating - ks******Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 14, 2025
When I used other cushions alone, I disliked how they would darken my skin. But with this as a base, there's less darkening, and my complexion stays radiant and fair. It maintains a bright look that I really appreciate. The foundation part of the product seems loose and keeps falling out. It's happened more than once or twice while using it, which is extremely inconvenient. Using this product alone is fine, but it can make your face look too pale. I find it works best as a first layer before applying other foundations or cushions. This method helps even out the skin tone, and then you can add coverage with another cushion for the best results. - ab*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJun 3, 2025
Natural tone correction Semi-matte finish, perfect for summer use While it didn't cause blemishes or skin irritation, the product quantity was a bit lacking. Without a solid skincare base, the makeup appeared to float on the skin. Personally, I didn't notice any major drawbacks, but with so many excellent brightening moisturizers available these days, I'm not sure this product justifies its price. In terms of performance and cost, the Daiso version is far superior, so why bother with this one? - se******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresJun 1, 2025
When applied, it gives a beautiful complexion and hardly causes any darkening. If I use this alone, my skin reacts badly and I get severe blemishes... It's so frustrating! Not recommended for super sensitive skin... - du************Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 30, 2025
It's fantastic for preventing darkening, which tends to worsen in the afternoon. This product really helps keep my complexion even throughout the day. Unfortunately, it caused blemishes on my skin. Such a shame, as I had high hopes for it. - s2********Oily SkinSensitive SkinMay 28, 2025
Since my skin is sensitive and I'm around shade 13, I've been using this as a foundation-free option for everyday makeup. I've gone through two or three bottles, that's how much I like it. As time passes, it makes my complexion look somehow... prettier? I really like that. However, occasionally I'd get two or three large blemishes. I thought it was due to other foundations or cushions, but after reading other reviews, it turns out this product was the culprit. Talk about being betrayed by something you trust... Despite its initial appeal, it's important to patch test and monitor your skin's reaction to any new product, especially if you have sensitive skin. - sa******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 24, 2025
I've been using this for almost two years now. If you can master the amount, there's nothing better. The funny thing is, even if you mess up the quantity, it doesn't pill or feel cakey, which might actually make you more likely to overdo it! You only realize you've used too much when your complexion looks a bit too pale. The best part? It gives you a beautifully even skin tone. My friends have been showering me with compliments! Just focus on getting the amount right! You'll get the hang of it with practice. However, keep in mind that it has minimal coverage. It's perfect if you're looking for something that focuses solely on evening out your complexion. For even better results, try applying it with a beauty blender. Even if it's a bit of a hassle, apply it little by little to adjust the color to your liking. - ra*******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 22, 2025
The cushion format makes it super portable and convenient to carry around. It does an excellent job of naturally neutralizing yellow undertones. It seems to have trouble spreading evenly. For some reason, when I apply a cushion foundation on top, it keeps pilling and clumping up into white patches. I think it's best to use this product on its own. When you're feeling lazy about doing a full face of makeup, you can just apply this instead of a brightening moisturizer before heading out. - cy********Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 14, 2025
I really wanted to get whiter, but that japchae is really good. You need to adjust the amount applied as it has become too pale. Simply applying it heavily to achieve a stark white finish will not work.
