I've repurchased this product numerous times. My family has various hair types - oily scalp with dry hair, dry scalp with dry hair, and seborrheic scalp with damaged hair - and we've all settled on this product. Previously, I used a minty shampoo for oily hair because my scalp would get greasy and smelly if I skipped even one day of washing. While it felt refreshing, it was somewhat irritating with daily use and left my hair feeling stiff. I used to think using a low pH shampoo on a seborrheic scalp was a no-go, but after trying this on a friend's recommendation during a sale, I found it actually soothed my scalp. My hair felt soft instead of brittle. Since then, I haven't looked back and continue to use it consistently. The only drawback might be the price (though you can buy it on sale). Also, I'm not sure if it would provide enough cleansing effectiveness for extremely oily scalps. - mo*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 27, 2024
As a nourishing shampoo, it doesn't have a lightweight feel. While it's not as slippery as products containing Moroccan oil, it's definitely more substantial than anti-hair loss shampoos or those emphasizing a light touch. This product is more suited for cool autumn and winter months rather than summer when the scalp tends to heat up. Although I rinse very thoroughly and didn't experience any dandruff, I probably won't use it during the summer months. - ui********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsJul 10, 2024
As someone with sensitive skin, I usually don't tolerate menthol well. I've even seen reviews of people who had to visit dermatologists after using other brands' shampoos with menthol. This shampoo lathers well, makes hair soft, doesn't irritate the scalp, and seems to help with hair loss - I noticed less shedding. That's about the extent of its positives. I was a huge fan of Seedbee, loving their feminine wash so much that I bought their body wash, Isul shampoo, and even hair dye. When I got curious about the Chaeudam shampoo, I tried a sample. My hair felt softer and my scalp wasn't irritated, so I immediately bought the whole Chaeudam line and used it for about 2 months. The problems started around the 2-week mark. My face began developing clear, millet-sized blisters, and my cheeks became red and inflamed. I had just switched to a new cushion foundation, so I thought that was the culprit. I tossed the cushion but continued using the shampoo and treatment for two months, not realizing they could be the problem. I've attached my purchase history for reference. Meanwhile, my increasingly red skin led me to use prescription medication and steroid creams for almost 2 months. But there was no improvement, and I started experiencing side effects from the steroid cream. Even with dermatologist visits and cream application, my skin was getting worse. It was a desperate two months - I felt hopeless, wondering if this was my new normal. My skin wasn't just red; it was becoming hard. The steroid cream side effects probably contributed too. I've attached photos - I lived with that face for two months. One day, I thought, 'Could it be the shampoo and treatment? Could Chaeudam be the cause?' I checked the ingredients on Hwahae and was shocked to find menthol and even some high-risk ingredients. I felt blindsided because I had trusted the Seedbee brand. I immediately stopped using the products and switched to a different shampoo and treatment. It's been almost a week, and day by day, the redness is subsiding, and my skin is slowly returning to normal. I'll post an update in a few weeks when it's fully recovered. This might just be my personal reaction, and I feel bad for the Seedbee brand, but after two months of emotional distress and long-term use of harmful steroids, I felt compelled to leave this review. I've blurred the purchase confirmation date to protect my privacy. I still like Seedbee's Isul line and their hair dye. If you have sensitive skin, absolutely do not use this. If you're sensitive to menthol, definitely stay away from this product. For those who typically don't have issues with any products, you might find it beneficial for hair loss prevention and scalp comfort. - wl*********Dry SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedJul 2, 2024
I bought this during a special sale and I've been using it. Here's what I like: 1. It gives strength to the hair My hair is naturally thin and limp, but after washing with this shampoo, it feels like it has more body and strength. 2. Nourishing without being greasy It's great that despite being a nourishing shampoo, it doesn't leave my scalp feeling too oily. It strikes a nice balance - not too stripping, not too heavy. 3. No scalp irritation I usually get an itchy scalp with strongly scented or specialized shampoos, but not with this one! Surprisingly, even when I go to bed with damp hair, I don't experience any itching. 1. Price to quantity ratio While the price might seem high, they often have sales and discounts which make it more affordable to use regularly. - 63*****Combination SkinRecommendedMay 26, 2024
First off, the fragrance is lovely. While personal preferences may vary, this scent has a luxurious quality to it. Moreover, it leaves my hair feeling incredibly soft and silky. So far, I haven't found anything to complain about. I'm pretty much satisfied with it overall. - eu*********Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedDec 10, 2023
Using this in winter kept my scalp from drying out and feeling nicely moisturized, which I really appreciated. Large size! Many shampoos are coming out in bigger bottles these days. It would be great if this product came in a larger size too. - ko******Normal SkinAcne SkinOct 6, 2023
The texture is quite nice. There's not much scent, and it lathers well. I bought this during a special sale and have been using it, but suddenly I'm getting so much dandruff! I was wondering what was going on, so I came to Hwahae to check, and this is what I found... I'm so frustrated! - dm*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinDark CirclesRednessRecommendedOct 5, 2023
It's just okay, nothing special. At least it doesn't make me itchy, haha! The scent isn't very pleasant, unfortunately. After washing, my skin feels stiff. - ta*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinSep 13, 2023
This might be good for people with dry or damaged hair. Even though I only used the shampoo, it left my hair feeling moisturized and like it had a protective coating. However, for those with oily hair, it might not cleanse as thoroughly. I bought this during a sale, but as someone with oily and sensitive skin, it caused my seborrheic dermatitis to flare up again, and my scalp became incredibly itchy. Like another reviewer mentioned, I even developed scalp inflammation that led to bleeding. I also got dandruff, so after using it for a week, I immediately switched to a different shampoo, which helped. It even caused blemishes on my face. It definitely doesn't work for me, so I won't be using it again. - qj********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticitySep 5, 2023
I recently purchased this shampoo at a great price through a special deal (my own money, my own purchase). My skin type: I have extremely dry and sensitive facial skin, but my scalp is quite resilient and can handle most products - it's neither particularly oily nor dry. Usage experience: Despite not being specifically formulated for oily hair, I found this product quite satisfying as it kept oil at bay for a long time. This might be a drawback for those with dry scalps, though. I also appreciate its subtle, pleasant fragrance that isn't overpowering. While the amount dispensed per pump isn't large, it lathers well, making it potentially great for men's use! To be honest, I have more reservations about this product. After using it, I started developing small blemishes near my scalp, which gradually spread down to my forehead. It wasn't until I visited a dermatologist that I realized the shampoo was the culprit. The issues subsided after switching to a different shampoo. Additionally, as someone with long, thick hair, I need to pump it at least three times for each wash. Given the small bottle size, I go through it quite quickly. I would recommend this to those with non-sensitive scalps and oily hair types!
