This is my summer essential! Since it's matte, it covers blemishes and redness really well. If you prep your skin properly, the adherence is absolutely fantastic. It should conceal dark circles too, unless they're really intense. The staying power is great, and as time passes, your skin looks more and more beautiful. It doesn't break down messily and holds up well against sweat. I don't have any complaints. I used to avoid makeup when I wasn't confident, but with this, as long as you do your skincare routine well, you should definitely give it a try. If you think you're clumsy with a spatula, just apply it with your fingers in specific areas and then pat it in with a puff. The way it adheres to your skin is seriously amazing. - ma******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 10, 2025
The coverage is excellent, and it leaves a smooth, matte finish. This foundation has incredible adherence. I have combination dehydrated skin, so my face tends to get quite oily. Usually, when I use foundation, it dissolves in my natural oils. However, this product controls excess oil without causing any darkening. It maintains the same look as when first applied. As someone who develops smile lines when I laugh, I found this product's staying power impressive. Compared to other foundations, it doesn't settle into my smile lines as much. In this aspect, it's nearly perfect. The consistency isn't runny, but it's not too thick either. While it applies well, you need to work quickly as it sets fast. It's like painting your skin. If you take care and put effort into application, you can achieve flawless-looking skin. Even as a makeup major, I find this product challenging to apply. You can't make mistakes with your skincare base, and if you blend too much, it can look patchy. You really need to apply it skillfully. This product might be better suited for those who prefer a full coverage look. I wouldn't recommend it for those who prefer a more natural makeup style. Since it sets quickly, make sure to blend with a beauty sponge promptly. Also, ensure your skincare is fully absorbed to prevent pilling! - 01*****Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 10, 2025
The coverage of this product is insane! If coverage is your top priority and you don't care about anything else, this is the one to buy. If you apply it without proper skincare prep, your skin might feel dry or the product could crack! I mix it with Giverny foundation, and that combination works wonders! It improves both adherence and coverage, making it an excellent pairing that I use regularly. - ye***********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 7, 2025
I've been using this base for years now. Even after trying other bases, this one still works best for my skin. The coverage is really good! I didn't find any particular downsides, but if you have dry skin, it might feel a bit drying. - j8*******Dry SkinSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedJul 5, 2025
I'm on my second bottle of this beloved product! I used to use a high-end foundation from another brand, but after trying Banila Co's foundation, I immediately switched over. As someone with combination dehydrated skin - oily T-zone but dry underneath - this product is perfect because it's adequately moisturizing without sliding off. The texture is slightly runny and applies smoothly, so it's not stiff when I use my spatula as usual. When I pat it on with the Banila Co puff, it creates a truly flawless skin finish. However, I tend to sweat a lot, and in this weather, the makeup does break down a bit... That's slightly disappointing. Works hard for my super sensitive skin Absorbs well without feeling sticky Evens skin tone for a natural complexion Great for layering in a daily mask routine - sk*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRednessJun 29, 2025
First off, the initial coverage is excellent. It does a great job covering redness and blemishes. However, as time passes, the staying power is almost non-existent. Even with using a setting spray and powder, and touching up throughout the day... Just keep that in mind. - sa*******Acne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 22, 2025
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Coverage: 4/5 Longevity: 3/5 Darkening: I didn't experience much darkening at all! Pilling: 3/5 Setting power: 5/5 You need to be careful with the amount you use! For me, it felt like it applied a bit thick, and I found it to be noticeably lighter than other #21 shades. You really need to control the amount you use, otherwise it can cake up. There's definitely a noticeable thick feeling when applied. Be careful - it sets extremely quickly! - kk********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 17, 2025
I'm not exaggerating when I say I've gone through 8 bottles of Banila Co's Cover-icious, including before the reformulation! I've tried other popular foundations and cushions out of curiosity, but honestly... I think Banila Co's foundation will always be my number one. Let me start with the color - my skin tone is between 21-22 with yellow undertones, and the 21 Ivory shade gives me that perfect radiant look without any darkening. The foundation color itself is absolutely stunning... It's a beautifully clear ivory shade that's just perfect. But it's not just about the color. The way it applies reminds me of pure 'silk' - when you first put it on, it feels somewhere between semi-matte and matte. As someone who loves an ultra-matte finish, I apply powder over this foundation to keep it matte even in summer. Where this foundation really shines is in its staying power. Compared to other foundations, not only does it not darken throughout the day, but it also noticeably reduces oil production. With summer approaching, I highly recommend everyone stock up on Banila Co! It sets quickly after application, so it might be a bit challenging for makeup beginners or those looking for a more moisturizing, easily blendable product. However, as someone who prefers a matte finish, I loved it! For the best skin finish, I recommend applying it with a spatula and then patting it in with an "Espoir Velvety Puff". - ab********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 11, 2025
I used this product during the time when my skin was at its most sensitive and troubled due to acne and acne scars. One of the great things about this foundation is its wide range of shades, allowing you to find the perfect match for your complexion. Being a matte formula, you don't necessarily need to finish with powder, which is a big plus. This foundation is primarily designed for coverage, and it definitely delivers. It's excellent at concealing light scars without the need for additional concealer, and even deeper scars can be effectively covered with two or three layers. The matte finish also contributes to its impressive longevity, keeping your makeup looking fresh for hours. The matte formula sets quite quickly - within about 5 seconds of application, you might need to use a puff to blend out thinly applied areas. While it offers great coverage and staying power, it's not exactly a lightweight formula. This foundation can feel a bit heavy and suffocating on the skin, which might be uncomfortable for some. Also, the final look can vary significantly depending on your skincare routine, which can be a bit frustrating. For those looking for stronger, easier coverage, here's a tip: Apply a thin layer of concealer first, wait a moment, then apply the foundation over it. This method provides an easy and simple way to achieve fuller coverage.
