Excellent application and feel for the price. A must-buy souvenir from Japan. The formula has a rich texture, so those with oily skin should definitely use powder with it. This review highlights the product's value for money and pleasant texture, making it a popular choice for travelers to Japan. However, it also notes that the formula might be too rich for oily skin types, suggesting the use of powder to manage excess shine. This information helps potential buyers understand both the benefits and potential drawbacks of the product, depending on their skin type. - ia******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 10, 2025
I used this from last winter through spring this year. Despite being a gel type, it wasn't drying at all. Instead, it absorbed into my skin with a nice, firm texture, making it perfect for the dry seasons. If you have oily skin or prefer products that don't feel tight on application, this might be hit or miss for you. - he*****Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityApr 27, 2025
This sunscreen has a gel texture, but it adheres perfectly to the skin. The formula makes sense given Japan's hot climate. The price is also great, around $4 per tube, and you get a generous amount. First off, when you apply it over your base makeup, it pills up like dead skin cells. Poor compatibility. On weekdays, I only use it on my neck, and I use it on my face during makeup-free weekends. I use it on days when I'm not wearing makeup. - le*************Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedMar 2, 2025
Love it! While it doesn't really have features like brightening or skin correction, it's gentle, doesn't leave white cast, and is so versatile that anyone can use it! It's not sticky, so it's great for applying on the body, and it doesn't pill, making it perfect to use before makeup. Even my dad, who absolutely hates sticky sunscreens, has settled on this one. He even stocked up on it when we went to Japan! There's nothing bad... really nothing... It's just more 'reliably good' rather than exceptionally outstanding. Buy it when you're in Japan, it's way cheaper there! - j2*******Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedDec 28, 2024
I tried my mother's, and it absorbs well, leaving the skin feeling hydrated. The white cast isn't too noticeable, which is great. I'm not sure if the cap and opening don't fit properly, but it seems to leak a bit. When turned upside down, there's quite a bit of product stuck around the cap and opening. - fr**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedOct 29, 2024
It applies smoothly without causing blemishes, and it's quite affordable when purchased in Japan It's extremely rich in oils, leaving a very slippery feeling both during and after application - eu**********Oily SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 30, 2024
As a mineral-based product, it's not completely free of white cast, but compared to other brands, it's significantly, incredibly, amazingly lower! (After application, it falls into the category of having almost #no white cast) After using it for a long time, I've developed my own method. I apply the Aqua Rich Gel (mineral, this product) around my eyes, and the Aqua Rich Essence (chemical) on other areas. Though there's a slight white cast, it actually #brightens the eye area nicely. A key feature is that it's not heavy at all. My face doesn't feel stuffy, so I keep reaching for it. The downside is that if you sweat a lot on your face (like when exercising outdoors and sweating profusely), it can sometimes leave white marks. But this is true for other mineral-based products too. The difference is that even if you pat it again and reapply, it doesn't feel heavy. It's really, truly lightweight! It's great for layering over light makeup, and even when you're not wearing makeup, applying it twice doesn't result in an overwhelming white cast. It's definitely the champion of lightness and freshness among mineral sunscreens. While it's not completely free of white cast, it's so minimal that I keep wanting to use it. On days when I'm not wearing makeup, I only use the Aqua Rich Essence (chemical). On full makeup days, I use this one! The Aqua Rich Gel (mineral) gives me peace of mind. - hy********Oily SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 31, 2024
This cream? It absorbs much lighter than an emulsion. The quantity is generous, and I love it. Makeup applies beautifully over it. Hmm... I can't really think of any downsides. Perhaps the only inconvenience is that it's a foreign product? Is it available at Olive Young? Remember to shake before use - jo**********Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 25, 2024
It applies smoothly like a hydrating moisturizer and seems to provide excellent sun protection When I apply a heavy cream and then sunscreen on top, it pills and has an alcohol scent I recommend letting the cream absorb almost completely before applying this product - ji******Dry SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedJul 10, 2024
1. The texture is like a light emulsion and absorbs smoothly. Rather than being non-sticky, it leaves a moisturized finish. 2. There's no white cast. However, it does leave a slight glow on the skin. 3. The most crucial point is that it's a sunscreen that doesn't interfere with makeup application! The downside is that you still need to buy it from overseas... It's cheapest if you purchase it in Japan. Stock up on this one...
