The ingredients are fantastic! There are no harmful components. It applies thinly and feels lightweight on the skin. Don't expect much in terms of coverage... It applies as a sheer layer. - rc*****Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 3, 2025
This foundation gives a radiant glow while being surprisingly matte - a rare find among trendy foundations. The shade is beautiful, and it doesn't accentuate pores, which is fantastic. No darkening either! If your complexion is lighter than shade 21, this color would be perfect for you. I usually apply foundation very lightly, so it works well for me. However, when I first used it, I didn't control the amount properly and applied too much, which made my face feel heavy. Be careful with the amount you use. - dr*********Dry SkinRecommendedFeb 5, 2025
Finally found my holy grail foundation for dry skin. I've settled on this one for good. I've tried all the high-end department store foundations for dry skin, and this one doesn't cause any deep dryness or tightness. It's a bit dark for those with skin tones between 13-17. I'm using it despite this drawback. I'll probably need to switch to something else for summer. - ye*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedJan 21, 2025
I bought this foundation because of its great ingredients. I've struggled with folliculitis, but while using this product, I didn't experience any particular issues. I'm really satisfied with it! While it has good coverage, if you prefer a natural skin look, this might not be the best fit for you. - pa********Oily SkinSensitive SkinJan 16, 2025
The coverage is decent and the color gives a fresh, radiant look. I used Cool Vanilla and it worked well for me. About 10 seconds after application, my face starts to feel slightly uncomfortable with a burning sensation. It might not be suitable for sensitive skin. I have extremely sensitive skin myself. - he*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 14, 2024
This semi-matte foundation is perfect for dry autumn and winter skin! 1. It makes your skin texture incredibly smooth. The texture looks rich, but it applies smoothly. It takes a bit of time to set, but once it does, you get a slightly semi-matte finish. For those who don't suit a glowy look, this is great even in winter. After using ultra-matte foundations that made my skin feel tight, this one feels comfortable and doesn't dry out my skin. The skin texture looks so beautiful, I'm really satisfied! 2. Color As someone with warm undertones who prefers lighter makeup, I was worried 21 Silk might be too bright. But it blends into the skin well, giving a lovely, radiant look! When I tried the tester, I felt Cool Vanilla was a bit dark. 3. Longevity and coverage of texture and pores In autumn and winter, it lasts over 8 hours without breaking up. It sets well even without powder. I'm very sensitive to product settling into pores and emphasizing texture, but there's almost no settling when applied with a brush. The thin formula actually covers texture naturally. 4. Ingredients As someone who cares deeply about skin health, I love that the ingredients are good for the skin. It feels really comfortable and lightweight, so I can use it without worry! Please never discontinue this product! Those with very oily skin or sensitivity to oils might want to consider carefully before using. Apply thinly in layers using a brush and puff. Be careful of fingerprints until it sets, which takes about 5 minutes. Then, lightly dust powder only on the sides of the nose, eyebrow area, and outer edges of the face for a flawless skin finish. - pf*****Oily SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedOct 30, 2024
It's thin, matte, and sets well. It's also easy to apply with a brush. The opening gets quite messy. You'll need to wipe it clean after pumping and before closing the lid to keep it tidy. - st*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 27, 2024
Skin type: Dry in autumn/winter / Oily T-zone in summer When I first bought and applied this in summer, I thought I'd wasted my money. The foundation breaking apart? What? It's not super resistant to oil! (To be fair, this summer was almost Southeast Asian-level hot.) Looking now, I see many negative reviews were written in summer! But using it now in autumn, I'm like, 'Huh? Was it always this good?' It's so different, it's amazing! By the way, it's better applied with hands than a brush. Despite its light color (Silk), it doesn't look chalky white. Instead, it blends into my skin, and the staying power? Surprisingly, it's almost the same as when first applied. In summer it would break up into little balls, but now it doesn't break apart at all! And there's no darkening throughout the day?! The color stays true! I feel a bit guilty for underrating it in summer... I highly recommend this foundation for spring, autumn, and winter use, except summer. However, I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin. It's great for normal to dry skin types. The ingredients are excellent, and it feels really comfortable without any skin tightness. Can't use it in summer, lol! * Additional review - It causes blemishes... I think it's because of the oil content. - ki********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessRecommendedAug 21, 2024
It applies smoothly and moistly, but feels different from typical hydrating foundations (I've used many moisturizing foundations, but this Laura Mercier one has a unique touch that only those who've tried it can understand... The absorption is excellent). The coverage seems minimal, but for someone like me whose makeup tends to separate with matte formulas... I'm using it with concealer. After a while, it feels like it becomes slightly semi-matte (unlike some ultra-dewy foundations where your eyeliner might smudge if you touch your cheek, this doesn't do that). It doesn't cling to nose creases or break down noticeably. Even when it does start to wear, you don't need to keep reapplying with a cushion compact. Just gently press and pat the areas that have worn off, and you can restore that smooth, hydrated skin look. Not suitable for use with masks. As you can see in the photo, the combination of breath, oil, makeup transfer, and breakdown due to mask-wearing is terrible. Even for someone with oily skin, while it might not be quite this extreme, I suspect it would still break down similarly. The coverage is also disappointing, but I can't give up that hydration... I'll use concealer. If you notice some fading or breakdown after a long time without touch-ups, use the method described above: firmly press and pat with a puff, then lightly touch up with concealer if needed. A pro tip is to set oily areas like the T-zone or nose with powder. Apply with a brush, working it into the pores, then lightly pat with a puff to smooth out brush strokes for improved longevity. - cs***Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 18, 2024
As someone with extremely sensitive skin that reacts badly to most cosmetics, causing acne and dermatitis, I've been a foundation nomad unable to use just anything. However, this foundation's simple and high-quality ingredients (especially the absence of stearic acid, which is crucial) don't cause any breakouts. That's incredibly important! Moreover, it doesn't feel heavy or cakey. It applies thinly with a perfect balance of moisture and matte finish, so it doesn't feel suffocating. I really hope they maintain this formula without any ingredient changes. No complaints yet! I'll update after using it for a longer period. Applying this foundation over a slightly moisturizing sunscreen seems to create a more natural look. If you use a mineral-based matte sunscreen underneath, it appears to enhance the coverage.
