Usage period: 2 months Pros: Applies smoothly. A pea-sized amount is enough, so it lasts long. The lid is well-designed to keep the product airtight! I'm not sure if it's causing small blemishes because my skin isn't in great condition right now. I only apply it to my smile lines, but honestly, any skincare product could potentially cause issues in that area. My husband is using it without any blemishes though! Squeeze out an amount smaller than a grain of rice and gently spread it over your wrinkle-prone areas! - vm********Oily SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 20, 2025
The tube packaging is convenient, and the narrow opening makes it easy to control the amount. It absorbs quickly despite being a cream, without feeling sticky. You only need to use a tiny bit, so the 25ml might last longer than expected - I even use it on my body! Retinol has various benefits: skin regeneration, wrinkle improvement, evening out complexion, reducing discoloration, antioxidant effects, pore refinement, and fading dark spots. Amazingly, consistent use is said to increase skin thickness. It's truly a fascinating ingredient that I'm eager to incorporate into my routine. Since I'm using such small amounts, it's hard to notice the effects. I guess consistency is key with this product. This high-concentration product contains 4000IU of retinol, which is about twice the 2500IU amount certified by the FDA for wrinkle improvement. Use it cautiously in small amounts, either every other day, every other week, or mixed with a moisturizer. Always monitor your skin's reaction. Absolutely avoid using it when your skin is super sensitive! - qh*******Combination SkinJan 18, 2025
- Absorbs well into the skin - Didn't cause any significant irritation for me - Can likely be used year-round since only a small amount is needed - I've used other brands' retinol products before, and with those I could visibly see improved skin texture within a day or two. With this product, I didn't really notice any significant skin improvement - After using this product, it seems like I'm getting small bumps and non-extractable blemishes on my face. I checked Hwahae and found that it contains many pore-clogging ingredients... - It's a bit too drying to use as a finishing cream in winter - b9********Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedDec 13, 2024
If you're looking for a gentle retinol application, this product seems to be the one. For some reason, I tend to trust all Missha products. The pointed tip makes it easy to apply as a spot treatment. However, I prefer to squeeze it out and apply it all over my face, gently patting it in. The texture isn't sticky or heavy, making it comfortable to use without feeling burdensome. The scent is a bit... I'm not sure how to describe it. It's not necessarily bad, but there's something slightly stuffy about it? It's tolerable though. Apply this after your serum or ampoule, once your skin has calmed down sufficiently. Use it before bed and allow plenty of time for it to absorb well. - dm********Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedNov 15, 2024
I've been using the 500 Shot daily and incorporating it into my nighttime routine every 2-3 days. Despite having sensitive skin, I haven't experienced any noticeable irritation. The results are definitely visible. This is my first retinol product, and I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner! A little goes a long way - even a small amount spreads thinly and covers a large area. The only inconvenience is that it's sensitive to heat, so you need to be careful about storage. Other than that, there are no drawbacks at all. Use it together with the Missha 500 Shot from the same line. It's truly fantastic! - hs*****Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 3, 2024
I love that the high-concentration retinol comes in an airtight container design. My skin feels so soft and smooth - I'm definitely going to keep using this regularly! There's not really anything I dislike about it... Maybe if the fragrance was a bit nicer? Please make sure to follow the usage guide carefully! I applied it all over my face continuously and ended up with a retinol burn (my skin became extremely sensitive). Use it sparingly on specific areas and take breaks between applications! Despite that, retinol is amazing. - cc*****Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedSep 8, 2024
I just checked the ingredients while writing this review today, and wow, shea butter is quite high up on the list! As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I used to avoid ingredients that could clog pores, but surprisingly, this feels great on my skin. I've been using it without any blemishes and even stocked up. It's fascinating how cosmetic formulations can make such a difference - the same ingredients like shea butter or stearic acid can cause breakouts in some products but work perfectly in others. It really varies from person to person! Before buying this, I had already adapted to about 0.1% concentration and wanted to increase it slightly. I searched extensively for a cost-effective option. At the time, I couldn't find much information, but I just noticed on the official website that it's equivalent to over 0.1% according to their product inquiries. If you've used retinol products before, this should be quite manageable. The packaging design is really impressive. It's well-sealed, maintaining the product's quality until the last drop. The scent is typical of retinol products - slightly tangy yet almost unscented, and the color has a slight yellow tint. I've only been using this as part of my nighttime routine. One bottle seems to last over three months. There's nothing negative to say. It's challenging to write 20 characters when there are no cons! Keep an eye out for Missha Day events on sites like Able's official homepage. They often have monthly promotions with 1+1 offers or discounts over 40%. The deals and configurations vary each time, but right now it seems even cheaper than when I bought it!
