As someone with combination skin, my nose and forehead tend to be oily while my cheeks and chin are dry. Although the texture is a bit heavy for a serum, its absorption and application are fantastic. I can use it comfortably both morning and night without any issues. For those with oily skin, this might feel a bit greasy. If you dislike even the slightest hint of residue, I wouldn't recommend it. If you layer it twice, you can achieve plump, deeply hydrated skin without a trace of inner dryness. It works hard to give you that perfect complexion. - bl********Combination SkinRecommendedJul 14, 2025
I love layering different essences, but it can feel a bit heavy in the hot summer. This essence alone feels sufficient. It tackles deep dryness while adding a glow, so I plan to keep using it for the rest of the summer. I was worried about the strong scent some reviewers mentioned, but I didn't notice any smell at all. At first, I found it hard to adjust to the dropper not dispensing a large amount at once. But as I've used it more, I've come to appreciate how it helps control the quantity. When used together with the silver bottle concentrate essence, my skin feels even more firm. - sy*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJul 14, 2025
I'm using this alongside the Purcell Pixel Biome Essence. As it's famous for being a serum that preps skin beautifully for makeup, it really lives up to its reputation. The absorption is fantastic, and when you apply foundation right on top, the smoothness and glow are no joke. It gives you that gorgeous hydrated radiance. For some reason, I find myself reaching for it often, which makes the amount feel insufficient. It's also on the pricey side. - so*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJun 28, 2025
Firm, bouncy texture Slight probiotic scent lingers Great for balancing combination dehydrated skin and smoothing dead skin cells/texture Intense tingling sensation upon initial application Face becomes irritated after 2-3 consecutive days of use Checking the ingredients, I noticed it contains salicylic acid for exfoliation. Using a product meant for monthly use daily seems to have compromised my skin barrier While it feels amazing after one use, it's not suitable for daily application Oily skin types might experience blemishes due to the rich formula. However, it could work well for combination dehydrated skin during seasonal changes when oil production increases but hydration is still needed This product works hard to address multiple skin concerns, but caution is needed with frequent use. It might be best suited as an occasional treatment rather than part of a daily skincare routine, especially for those with super sensitive skin. - wh****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 18, 2025
This serum feels wonderfully hydrating and creates a protective layer on the skin. It absorbs well into the skin quickly. The scent might be divisive, but I personally enjoyed the yogurt-like fragrance. - dk******Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 16, 2025
When applied, it creates a firm and radiant complexion, helping to improve skin texture and unevenness. There aren't really any drawbacks! It's one of those serums that I've used comfortably and effectively. - yp******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 26, 2025
I've been using this for about a month, only before makeup, and I haven't experienced any blemishes or issues. After completing my skincare routine, I apply this product as the final step. It seems to be a perfect match for my skin, giving me a porcelain-like complexion and making my makeup adhere beautifully. I have combination dehydrated skin, which usually causes my makeup to separate badly, but with this, it barely happens at all. Among Purcell products, this seems to be a great value-for-money cosmetic. If I had to point out a downside, it would be that the dropper isn't particularly user-friendly. - ch*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessMay 20, 2025
The squalane ingredient didn't agree with me, but when I looked again, it was at the bottom. That Hwahae product really didn't suit my skin type. No wonder it kept peeling off - it was because of this product. I bought it during a live stream, and it would have been a disaster if I had used it. The dropper is really inconvenient. This brand is good at making products but has a knack for frustrating the packaging. - kh******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 10, 2025
Skin type: Combination that changes with the seasons (Skin concerns: pores/firmness/brightening) As I entered my mid-30s, I hesitated to use semi-matte or matte bases, but I decided to buy this after seeing mostly positive reviews. Texture: Standard ampoule consistency, flows like a runny nose Application: Absorbs quickly, leaving a fresh feeling without any residue + a non-greasy glow. The glow and makeup-friendly finish align perfectly with its main concept! After use, it smooths out skin texture and provides enough hydration that, for my skin, I could skip moisturizer and apply sunscreen directly Scent: Yogurt... aroma... Although I was initially shocked by the scent when using the pure serum, I found that it greatly helped with using semi-matte cushions without needing to spend time building up my skincare routine, providing a nice glow and hydration. It might be a bit rich for summer use due to its moisturizing properties, but I'm planning to give it a try! It has a fresh yogurt scent... which was a bit challenging for me personally. If you hold your breath while applying it..!! The scent dissipates quickly - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 4, 2025
I've been using this product for a month and I'm here to rave about it... it's just that good! The Purcell Biome Serum has always been a favorite of mine, so I had no doubts about the quality of this product. While I initially had some minor gripes (which I'll mention below), the benefits far outweigh any inconveniences. Applying one pump each on my cheeks and forehead works wonders for skin soothing - it's absolutely incredible! I use it alongside my Quad-E skincare device, and at first, I thought the device was doing all the heavy lifting. However, when I tried other serums with the same device, the results weren't nearly as impressive. That's when it hit me - this serum is the real MVP! I'm definitely stocking up during the next sale. In terms of calming and clarifying effects, I'd rank my current serums as follows (I'm on my second bottle of Bring Green Zinc Tera Serum and Mediheal Madecassoside Ampoule, and halfway through my Purcell Serum): Bring Green < Mediheal < Purcell The Purcell Serum takes the crown for its superior soothing properties and ability to make my skin look clearer and more radiant. The packaging could use some improvement. The rubber grip on the dropper becomes slippery if your hands are even slightly damp. Also, removing the dropper cap from the bottle can be a bit of a struggle - it's quite stiff. The original Biome Extract is even better. After a month of use: If you can't use the extract liberally (due to its price), then definitely pair it with this serum. It'll boost the effectiveness at least threefold!
