The scent is absolutely lovely. Most hair dyes either have an overpowering smell or are hard to tolerate for long, but this one smells wonderful. No irritation on the scalp. I usually experience sensitivity with most products, but this formula felt incredibly gentle and soothing. Hair texture didn't suffer much damage. Even though my hair was already compromised, I didn't experience any matting or tangling issues. If anything, my hair felt silkier and smoother. Minimal red tones when rinsing. You know that reddish tint that often appears when Korean hair dyes fade? This one maintained a beautiful brown tone without that unwanted red cast, which really showcased the ash-blue pigment beautifully. (Update: Actually, looking at it again in natural light, I can see some red tones coming through now.)
The color fades quite quickly. I had previously dyed my hair brown with a DIY kit, and it had uneven patches. I was looking for a deep black shade to cover those imperfections, expecting a rich blue-black result, but it only lasted a day or two. The formula is too thin and watery for DIY application. When I opened the first bottle, the product spilled everywhere because it was so runny. I had to be extremely careful when pouring it into the included plastic mixing bowl. Once I mixed both bottles together, it did thicken up a bit, which made it more manageable. Don't use the included gloves. I'd recommend getting latex gloves instead. The provided gloves made it really difficult to control the application. Other brands like Mi×sen include latex gloves.
I've seen posts online claiming the color doesn't fade and won't stain your pillowcase, but I think that's overstated. For the first two or three days after coloring, I'd recommend placing a towel on your pillow to protect it.
