I first came across this product by recommendation of a friend who claimed that it cleans her pores very well and leaves her face clean and bright after using. I definitely agree to this. I started using this product in late November of 2019 and have repurchased another 3 times since then. Although as of 2021 I have decided not to repurchase because I would like to try out other products, I would totally recommend it if you are living in a similar climate as me (Malaysia - hot, humid, sweaty) or would like to deeply cleanse your skin during summer. You only need to apply a thin layer to your face, let it dry and then use a clean face towel to wipe it off. Your pores will feel instantly cleansed and fresh. If you have oily skin, this clay mask will help control sebum production. The texture of the clay is solid, but spreads easily across the skin.

If you do not wash off the mask as soon as it dries up and form a white dry layer, your skin may get dehydrated. It takes around 7-8 minutes to dry up. But the time may shorten if you are sitting in an air conditioned room which is less humidified. Although the instructions says that the mask will last for 12 months after opening the product, it dries up easily and the texture changes from a soft smooth clay to slightly hardened and can be difficult to spread out on your face. Do try to finish the product within 6 months after opening, or make sure it is stored in a cool dry place. The price is definitely on the high side in comparison to other clay masks. It is also not easy to purchase the product offline. I am from Malaysia and this product is only available on Sephora and is online exclusive. However, SAND&SKY has an official site which provides international shipping.

Rather than applying the clay mask directly on your dry face after cleansing, it works better if you pat a light watery type toner or spray a mist on your face and then let it absorb first before applying the mask. Direct application may dry out your face easily and irritate your skin. Using once a week is suitable for people with sensitive or dry skin. For oily skin, twice per week will be great. Instead of using it on the entire face, focusing on the T-zone is a good way to use this clay mask. It is also recommend to follow-up with a soothing or moisturizing sheet mask and highly moisturizing cream after the use of this clay mask.
