I've been genuinely using this as my go-to cushion foundation. My skin is combination with quite a bit of dryness underneath. 1. True to its essence name, this cushion feels much more hydrating compared to other cushion compacts. Because of that, it doesn't cake up as easily. Even on days when I'm dealing with flaking, this shows significantly less texture compared to other cushions. 2. It's really easy to blend and fill in pores. Even when I sweep it across my face, the essence-like texture makes it simple to smooth out pores. That said, if you're not careful with application, it can settle into pores just as easily. 3. Cooling sensation. While it doesn't have an actual cooling function, there's something about the essence formula that feels refreshingly cool when you apply it. Maybe that's why makeup feels less heavy? 4. Personally, the wear time isn't the longest, but even when I layer it, it doesn't look patchy compared to other cushions. Since my skin gets oilier in summer and drier in winter, I used to switch cushions seasonally. This is one reason I've settled on this one. It's not completely transfer-proof, but with good skincare and proper application, even multiple layers don't look heavy. Overall, it has a dewy, luminous finish without being overly glossy. There's something soft about it even without powder. It's somewhere between a semi-matte and semi-dewy finish, if that makes sense. 1. I really wish they sold the cushion puff separately because it tears so easily. 2. Please sell refill cushions too. 3. The compact case isn't sturdy. After using it twice, both the opening and closing mechanisms broke. 4. With this two-way cake cushion format, dust inevitably shows up really visibly. There's honestly no way to keep it hygienic. 5. It only comes in one shade. When I use it alone, it looks a bit too dark and has a grayish cast, so I've been using it over a makeup primer. If you use this with a thorough powder application, you can achieve long-lasting, poreless, porcelain-like skin. It's the kind of foundation that still looks fresh even the day after drinking.
