You can use this product with minimal irritation, and because it's relatively hydrating, it removes impurities easily when you cleanse. The cooling effect is disappointing. Since I have sensitive and oily skin, I had to use filtered water instead of cold water. If cooling is your main priority, I'd recommend trying a different product. If you don't have sensitive skin, I'd suggest using cold water for better results.

This mask has a high glucose content, so there's barely any dryness around the edges! As long as you don't apply it too thinly, it peels off completely without leaving any residue. The powder is fine and tends to fly around a lot, so if you turn on a fan, it'll go everywhere and create quite a mess! When you mix it with water, it becomes thick and sticky like mugwort rice cake. It feels like you're applying mugwort rice cake to your face. The creamy, dense formula makes it really easy for beginners to apply. When I used Laneige's most famous tea tree mask, my face felt very dry after removing it, but this one doesn't leave my skin as parched. It actually feels more hydrated! That said, it doesn't have quite the same cooling sensation as the Laneige tea tree version. Honestly, I bought this product because I didn't like the intense cooling effect of the tea tree, so the subtle, gentle coolness is absolutely perfect for me! This mask is great for anyone who hated the dryness around the edges and residue left behind, anyone who found their skin getting even drier after using modeling packs, or beginners who struggle with applying masks. The Laneige Renewal line is a bit pricey, I won't lie! But it's worth every penny. I really think you should give it a try at least once. If you're looking for a tea tree mask with a great cooling effect, the Renewal line has a tea tree option too, so definitely check that out! That said, the regular Laneige tea tree mask actually works just fine if you dampen a cotton pad with water and gently press it around the edges for about 3 seconds before peeling it off. It comes off cleanly without any residue.
