I was really happy using the dark brown, but now that black brown is available, I'm absolutely thrilled! It's not too intense, and since it doesn't have that pearlescent shimmer, it looks so clean and polished. Even though I had some reservations about how it felt to use, I haven't experienced any irritation at all. - Color 5/5 This gorgeous dark brown shade has no reddish undertones, so it feels effortless and natural—perfect for everyday wear! The color is so wearable and doesn't feel heavy at all. - Smudge-proof and Longevity 5/5 About 30 seconds after I apply the eyeliner, it sets completely, and I mean zero smudging! I've never had this product flake off on me. In the second photo, I rubbed it hard three times with a wet tissue, and it barely budged! - Application 5/5 It glides on so smoothly and effortlessly that I can even use it on my waterline without any irritation. The only thing is that over time, even with the cap sealed tight, it does get a bit firmer from air exposure—but that's just unavoidable with this type of product. - Thickness 3/5 This product is amazing, but the formula is a bit thick. If you love a sharp, pointed wing, you'll need to use your fingernail or a pointed cotton swab to sharpen the tip right after application and before it sets. That's what I did in the photo to get that sharp point. - Amount 3/5 The size is honestly disappointing! It runs out so quickly. I really recommend waiting for a buy-one-get-one deal before purchasing. I'm on my fifth tube of this, so I absolutely recommend it! I repurchased this because I've been using it for a while and I trust it completely. The color has a beautiful black-brown tone that's absolutely perfect. The Clio eyeliner has one main drawback - it's quite vulnerable to oils. While it holds up surprisingly well against water, it struggles against the natural oils around the eye area, so you really need to prep with powder beforehand. Also, the formula is thicker than expected, which makes it tricky to create clean lines at the outer corner. Even though I tend to get a bit oily around my eyes, this liner doesn't smudge at the corners at all! If you have hooded eyes like me where brush-tip liners don't work well, I'd definitely recommend giving this a try. By the way, I also use this for my lower lash line because it's the least smudge-prone option I've found!!! I haven't experienced that issue, though it does seem to break a bit easily sometimes. I barely noticed any dark smudging under my eyes, and the line I drew in the morning stayed crisp and clean all the way through the evening. The longevity is seriously impressive! Application Feel: The formula applies smoothly and sets quickly, which really eased my worries about smudging. Even when I used it on my waterline or lower lash line, there was minimal clumping or smudging, keeping everything looking neat and polished! The Downside: Because it sets so quickly, making corrections can be tricky for beginners. If you need to redraw or fix something, you might find it a bit challenging to work with. Also, since it's a pencil formula rather than a brush-tip or gel eyeliner, the lines can come out a bit blunt. If you're someone who loves sharp, ultra-thin lines, this might not be your favorite choice. Waterproof formula - It really holds up against water and doesn't wash away easily. Oil-resistant - Though I will say it does come off pretty easily with oil, which is something to keep in mind! No fallout - Some eyeliners tend to flake and leave dark specks around the eye area as the day goes on, but this one? Absolutely zero fallout. I'm obsessed with how clean it stays! I used to wear Espoir waterproof eyeliner, but since it was discontinued and I couldn't find it anywhere, I decided to give this one a try based on the positive reviews. I'm so glad I did! The color payoff is absolutely fantastic. The application is incredibly smooth and effortless, and I love how the thin pencil tip makes it so easy to create those perfect winged tips. Even though my eyes tend to smudge makeup easily, this eyeliner barely budges throughout the day. My previous Espoir eyeliner was the sharpening type, but this Clio version has a twist-up mechanism, which is so much more convenient and hassle-free. I do apply powder to set the eyeliner after drawing it to prevent smudging, but since my eyes are naturally prone to smudging, I can't honestly say it never smudges at all. Also, while it hasn't broken on me yet, the pencil feels quite thin and delicate, so I need to be careful when applying it. If you're like me and find that makeup tends to smudge no matter what you use, just apply a light dusting of powder after drawing your eyeliner. That simple step makes all the difference in keeping it in place and virtually smudge-free throughout the day!
