Because of the fallout, applying with your fingers gives more intense color payoff than using a brush. That said, using a brush does give you more precise application and a prettier finish. Just be prepared for lighter color deposit if you prefer the brush method. It requires a careful hand. The color builds up quickly, so if you're not careful with application, the shading can look too intense and almost harsh rather than natural. Beginners should take their time and apply gradually.
