I've been really stressed about chapped lips, and once I realized lip products were the culprit, I searched around and found this one. I was skeptical at first, but after hearing that it works while you sleep, I decided to give it a try. People say the application is a bit sheer, but when I layer it, the color payoff is actually better than expected. Since it has a balm-like texture, it also keeps my lips from drying out, so I think I'll be using this regularly. The color isn't as bold as a vibrant tint, but I find that layering it gives me the color I want, so it works fine for me.

My lips feel so comfortable, and I can apply it just like a lip balm when I don't have one on hand—it's that soothing. I bought it thinking the shade was ruby red, but it turned out to be a pinker red than I expected. I also picked up the long-wear gel in Venus, and while the long-wear formula had too much of an orange tone which was disappointing, this one leans quite pink. That said, since I have cool undertones, it actually suits me well and I'm satisfied. My only slight letdown is that I don't feel a huge difference compared to other premium brands. I wish there was some kind of guide that showed which shades work best for different personal color types when you're shopping. It's really difficult to choose because the color payoff varies so much between shades. Other brands have this feature, so it would be helpful here too. If you want better color payoff, I'd recommend using this with the long-wear gel together. Ingredients This lip balm is made with natural-derived ingredients that are safe enough to ingest. It's so gentle that I can apply it before bed without any concerns. 3. Undertone and Finish I have a deep undertone with bright coloring. On first application, it gives a slightly sheer rosy tone. Since it has a somewhat deeper feel to it, it's tricky to wear on its own, so I use it to add a flush of color or blend it with other lip products. It definitely feels a bit heavy for spring brights, I have to say! Plus, since it's a lip balm, it wears off really easily. If you have dry patches, they'll become more noticeable, and if you're not careful, it can look like flaking skin, so be mindful of that. I wish I hadn't found that out myself. Looking at the photos, I discovered that the lip balm case is a bit fragile, so check the images for reference. When I mix this with the Muse shade and Venus, it looks absolutely gorgeous on spring brights! Definitely try blending them together.
