I was lazy about using a brush while applying foundation, so I tried this product and then layered it with a full-coverage powder compact. I was honestly shocked at how flawless my base turned out! I used Estée Lauder foundation for a while, then switched to Bobbi Brown. Recently I was using domestic brands, but when I picked up another Estée Lauder product, a sample came with it. After testing it, I'm definitely going to buy the full size. This product smooths out the dry, patchy finish of Estée Lauder foundation beautifully, and you can really feel the difference between before and after application. When I used the Vanilla moisturizing primer, my foundation broke down significantly as the day went on, but with this product, my makeup stays put and looks fresh throughout the day. Usually my cheeks get dry and my nose gets oily and messy as time passes, but this product prevents all of that from happening!! It's the best It's pricey. Other than the high cost, there's really nothing to complain about. The price and small size are the only downsides. Apply your hydrating base thoroughly, then layer on the primer. This is my go-to primer whenever I'm applying a semi-matte to matte foundation. I originally picked it up alongside Double Wear since that foundation is so famous for its matte finish, but after trying it a few times, I loved it so much that I've repurchased it twice already. I thought I'd burn through it quickly at first, but honestly, the amount you get is really generous. I bought my first one three months ago and I'm still using it, so that tells you something. Considering that I tend to use a pretty heavy hand when applying primer, I'd say most people could easily get six months or more out of a single bottle. The texture is lighter and thinner than a hydrating cream—it's somewhere between a hydrating serum and a hydrating cream. Because it's so moisturizing, you actually feel a nice cooling effect when you apply it. It gives you that feeling of pure hydration without any oily residue. When I use this with Double Wear, the foundation doesn't feel matte at all, so I kept wondering why Double Wear is even called a matte foundation. But then I tried using Double Wear without this primer once, and I immediately understood. That's how essential this primer is when you're working with a matte foundation. The price is a bit steep—it costs about the same as a full-size foundation from most department stores. Not really anything to complain about.
