True to its ampoule formula, this cleanser doesn't feel stripping at all. In fact, it feels incredibly hydrating while cleansing. While it won't tackle heavy makeup, since I'm wearing a mask most days anyway, I'm not doing bold makeup looks anymore. This works perfectly for my everyday makeup removal routine. I use eyeliner daily, and when I use this product to remove my eye makeup, it gets into my eyes and causes such intense stinging that I can barely open them. Because of this, I only reach for it on days when I'm wearing minimal makeup. The formula definitely has that hydrating ampoule feel, but it seems to use up quickly. After trying a gel cleanser at a dermatology clinic and loving how it felt on my skin, I started searching for something similar and discovered the Nine Wishes brand. I was originally looking for a cleanser that could help bring out sebum from my nose instead of using cleansing oil, so I decided to give the gel type a try. However, unlike cleansing oil, this product alone won't completely eliminate nose sebum. That said, after cleansing with this, the sebum on my nose becomes much softer and easier to remove, so I think it works wonderfully when paired with other sebum-control products afterward. For context, pore strips have never worked well for me because no sebum comes off. The issue is that while I do have sebum, my skin is dry and my pores stay closed, so I need to soften the area first. Since this product is so hydrating, using it makes my nose sebum much easier to extract. It's so moisturizing that even after cleansing, my skin feels incredibly hydrated—you might wonder if you're applying skincare or actually cleansing! The cleansing process feels completely gentle with no irritation, so it won't stress your skin. This is especially great for anyone dealing with dryness and tightness during winter. Also, I'm not usually a fan of heavily fragranced cleansers or skincare products, but the Nine Wishes Cleansing Ampoule is practically unscented, which I really appreciated. I expected the gentleness to mean weaker cleansing power, but I was amazed when I forgot to pack a cleanser during a trip and this product alone did a thorough job of removing makeup and impurities. Because of its gel formula, you might not feel that refreshing, squeaky-clean sensation after washing, and depending on your preference, some people feel like it doesn't cleanse thoroughly or leaves residue on the skin. (Though this is just a feeling—the cleansing actually works well.) If you prefer that tight, polished finish, you might want to try a different formula instead. Also, if you tend to have excess sebum production during summer, this might feel too heavy for you. While I'd recommend it for dry skin types, I personally prefer that fresh, clean feeling in summer, so I only use this product during winter. To be honest, I do wish the price and amount were better. It seems like gel cleansers either have a higher production cost or fewer people are buying them, because I haven't seen significant discounts on this type of product.
