The pads are thin and stick to your skin beautifully. There's plenty of toner soaked in them. I can't say it has an incredible soothing effect, but it's definitely better than skipping this step altogether. While the thin pads do adhere well to the skin, they're almost too thin, which makes it a bit tricky to pull out one pad at a time.
