The formula is incredibly creamy and soft, so it doesn't last as long as other tints. The color is sheer, vibrant, and absolutely gorgeous, but it does come with the typical drawbacks of a balm formula. Since it has a balm texture, it melts completely if you keep it in your pocket or during hot summer weather. The staying power is basically nonexistent, and it transfers quite a bit. That said, the color itself is really beautiful. It melts easily, has poor longevity, transfers onto everything, and tends to get patchy. It's disappointing in those ways.

Whether you layer it over a matte lipstick or a hydrating lip color, it creates this beautiful glossy finish that looks like you've applied honey. The color payoff is really nice too—it's not too sheer, so you can absolutely wear it on its own and still look amazing. The only downside is that it comes in a tube format, so you'll need to carry a silicone lip brush with you to apply it properly. I haven't actually tried applying it with my fingers because loose powder or hygiene concerns make that less than ideal. I love how beautifully this product applies with such a natural finish. It feels incredibly moisturizing and the shade is so gentle on bare skin that it doesn't feel heavy at all. I find myself reaching for it constantly. The jar packaging means I have to dip my fingers in to apply it, which isn't the most hygienic approach. This product is incredibly hydrating! When I apply it to my lips, they look so dewy and beautiful with a gorgeous glossy finish. I also love using it as a blush - it gives my skin such a luminous, moisturized appearance. It's perfect for creating that fresh, transparent makeup look! It feels so hydrating and I love it! It has this nice lip balm-like texture, and the subtle shine really works for me. It washes off immediately when you eat, and honestly, there's no real color payoff or staying power to speak of.

I was curious about this apple-tinted lip balm because celebrities were advertising it, so I decided to try it even though it wasn't my usual color choice. Here's the thing though - when I apply it alone, the color payoff is pretty weak. If I layer it on to get the shade I want, it becomes too glossy and shiny. But when I use just a light layer, the color doesn't show up enough on my lips. Later, I picked up an ombre lip tint and started applying this balm on top of it, and wow, it adheres beautifully! Now when I layer my desired color over this balm, it goes on with a gorgeous shine and looks amazing. The color goes on so naturally and looks absolutely beautiful. My complexion looks so healthy and radiant with just one application. I was happy with the color payoff after just one swipe, but to get that vibrant, Instagram-worthy finish I see online, I need to build it up with multiple layers. It feels so moisturizing! It has this lovely lip balm quality, but when you layer it on, the color builds up beautifully and looks really pretty. If you're not a professional artist, applying it by hand without tools is tricky because you end up having to wipe it off with tissue afterward, which is inconvenient. Using the silicone lip brush that comes with it makes application so much easier. Just a heads up—the first layer will always be sheer, so don't hesitate to apply more product in the center for better color payoff.
