My skin is sensitive and dry, so I get redness easily in winter, and I'm prone to folliculitis depending on my hormones. I only get acne very occasionally. Aitrue Cleansing Oil is honestly the best product I've ever used - I've gone through over 10 bottles and I keep coming back to it even after trying other brands. It's a brand I trust completely. So this time, I got a bit careless and didn't do a patch test before using the sample pads right away. The pads are so thin like paper that I thought they'd be perfect for hydrating and soothing, so I tried them one morning while traveling, but... After wearing it for about 5 minutes, it suddenly started stinging and burning so badly that I had tears in my eyes. The moment I took it off, I developed mini folliculitis. The pads were so thin and stuck so tightly that I wondered if I'd gotten contact dermatitis. I realized I was the biggest fool for not patch testing when I have sensitive skin. When I looked into it, the product was already discontinued. And when I read other reviews, I found people who had the same stinging and irritation as me, so I thought, 'Oh, I'm not the only one experiencing this.' Don't use skincare products you haven't tried before while traveling.

The pad works great as an exfoliating toner and is incredibly thin, which means it tears easily. This is actually perfect because I can use it efficiently on smaller areas like my chin. When I apply it, the moisture content feels refreshing and hydrating, and the thin texture adheres beautifully to my skin. Honestly, when I'm too lazy to do a sheet mask, this toner pad is the perfect solution! While it did help with breakouts, I noticed a circular red patch appeared where I applied the pad. The scent was off-putting to me, kind of like vinegar with a slightly sour smell. More importantly, I felt a stinging sensation that persisted throughout use. I picked up the oil from the same brand and used the pads that came as samples. The pads are on the thinner side, and when I used them as a targeted treatment, both the hydration and how well they adhered to my skin were totally fine. Everything else was great, but the scent really wasn't for me. A lot of people mentioned it was fragrance-free, but the one I got had this sour smell to it.
