I also deal with quite a bit of redness. First off, there's zero irritation. I use it daily, and while it supposedly contains niacinamide, I can't really say I've noticed a brightening effect. Rather than feeling like it calms quickly, I'm using it more as a hydrating treatment. If you have sensitive skin and you're looking for a soothing hydrating serum without any irritation, I'd definitely recommend this. I've tried other serums from Amorepacific before, and those actually made my skin really reactive, probably because of the retinol in them. Even though it's supposed to have whitening benefits, on days when my skin is really acting up, I'd suggest using a calming emulsion or cream instead of layering this serum. • Abaca Soothing Ampoule • Before using Sometimes I apply a mist, sometimes I don't. When I skip the mist, my skin feels tight and parched after cleansing, especially since the blow dryer naturally dries my face. I don't use mist right after washing, so before applying this product, my complexion feels really dry and uncomfortable (the blow dryer definitely plays a role). After using My skin just feels so hydrated and dewy now. I was able to apply it quickly, and honestly, I had to work fast with it. Since it absorbs so rapidly, I could get my sunscreen on in a flash during my makeup routine, and that's been absolutely wonderful. True love for this step. Spreadability The formula is so watery that the moment I tilt the ampoule to apply it to my face, it's already running everywhere. I have three photos showing this, and it happened within five seconds of dispensing. I was really disappointed by how thin and runny the texture is. Other thoughts The ampoule bottle is tall and large, so I expected a generous amount to come out with one pump, but it dispensed about the same as a smaller ampoule. Maybe I'm just expecting too much. Also, despite being called a soothing ampoule, I didn't really notice any calming benefits. I like to keep different serums on hand depending on my skin's needs. My previous cica serum ran out, so I decided to try this one since it comes in a larger size. I usually layer two to three serums, so the texture needs to be lightweight and not heavy. This one has a nice, runny consistency—almost like a thin mucus—which works perfectly for me. It doesn't feel sticky, it's not heavy at all, and it absorbs beautifully. Since this is a cica serum, I bought it specifically for when my skin feels irritated, sensitive, or reactive. When I use the galvanic massager to help it absorb properly, my skin bounces back within two to three days. I'm really happy with the results. The packaging feels... honestly, way too cheap. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what it is, but it's that classic, understated cica essence aroma you find in many skincare products. No Skin Irritation I usually experience some irritation when trying new products, but this one was completely gentle. I switched from another cica essence to save money and grabbed this on sale for under ten dollars. I'm absolutely thrilled with it. I'm definitely repurchasing once I finish the bottle. Just-Right Texture It might feel slightly dry during winter, but it works beautifully for all other seasons.
