My skin type is dry, and with temperatures dropping below freezing lately, the wind is making my skin even more parched, so I'm really focusing on hydration! This review covers both strengths and areas for improvement. 1. Texture The formula has that classic runny essence texture that many people use. Compared to watery ampoules, it has more viscosity, so it doesn't drip down your face, which is great. However, because the dropper dispenses in chunky amounts, it feels like the product runs out quickly. After two weeks of use, I've already gone through half the bottle. I apply about 1 to 1.5 droppers after cleansing. 2. Color As you can see in the attached photo, the color is a slightly opaque, muted bronze tone. 3. Scent I'm sure many of you were curious how this compares to the popular Witch's Factory Biofida Biome ampoule. It's been a while since I used that one, so I don't remember the exact scent clearly, but I don't think it had mugwort. This product definitely has a mugwort scent, so they must have added it. Personally, I really enjoy the pleasant herbal aroma that comes with each use. 4. Hydration Power Since this is a runny essence formula, it absolutely won't provide enough moisture on its own. That said, I don't think anyone relies on just one ampoule for hydration during winter. This product is light enough to use year-round across all skin types. 5. Brightening The description says it creates clear skin. Biofida's benefits are usually listed as wrinkle improvement and brightening effects, but from years of using it, what I noticed most was strengthened skin barrier and overall healthier-looking skin. I wasn't sure about the brightening or clarity aspect, but this product really seems focused on creating that clear, luminous complexion. I noticed that even with the same makeup, my skin looked noticeably clearer some days. And when I checked the benefits today before writing this review, it mentioned creating clear skin, so the effect is definitely there. The dropper is too stiff, so the product doesn't come up easily. Since it's already a runny formula, even with normal pressure, only half the amount comes up. Final Thoughts Biofida works really well with my skin, so I've been using it quite happily. Witch's Factory has two Biofida lines: Biofida Complex and Biofida Biome Complex. The Biome version really doesn't work for me, but I've been using the Biofida Complex for 5 to 6 years now. I've been a customer since Witch's Factory's early days. Honestly, when I found out I got the Biome version, I thought it wouldn't work for me either, but this product seems to have benefits that are close to the Complex line, even if not quite at that level. I think the issue with Witch's Factory's Biome is the probiotics it contains, which don't agree with my skin. Whenever I use skincare with probiotics, I get these strange little bumps and the hydration just doesn't work right. It's such a weird reaction that I avoid it completely. This product would be perfect for people who want something lighter than the Biofida Complex but whose skin doesn't tolerate probiotics well. And it definitely does create clearer skin. I didn't have high expectations, but it works better than I thought. On its own, it might not be enough for oily skin types, but paired with a toner, essence, or cream, it's absolutely perfect. The best part is how quickly it absorbs without leaving any sticky residue. Diamond Container The brown dropper bottle is hygienic, but the rubber dropper feels a bit weak. Each pump only dispenses about 2-3 centimeters of product, which is inconvenient. That said, it's not such a dealbreaker that I'd skip using this product. The dropper mechanism is too weak and doesn't pull up enough product. I wish it had a stronger suction so I could get more product with each pump (the photo shows how much comes out with one full pump). If you layer this just on the dry areas of your face, it's perfect for those days when only certain parts of your skin feel parched.
