The fragrance tends to fade quite quickly. I picked out this fragrance myself at Aesop as a coming-of-age gift. It has a beautifully neutral scent, and the words that perfectly capture it are woody, forest-like, natural, meditative, yoga-inspired, rich, deep, serene, and a deep forest green. What I absolutely love about Aesop fragrances is that they don't give me headaches at all. The downside is that it's quite pricey for a student like me. Since I really appreciate good value for money, this is a bit of a stretch for my budget.

The fragrance is beautifully evocative and the longevity is impressive too! A lot of fragrances out there are so overpowering they practically make your nose hurt, but Wheal stands out to me as having a subtle, natural scent that really captures Aesop's signature style without being overdone. The fragrance is absolutely lovely, and it layers beautifully with other scents. The fact that it's not an intense fragrance is actually a plus, but the longevity is really disappointing. I'm taking away a star because the staying power just isn't there. Since Wheal doesn't last as long as I'd like, I personally prefer to use it at home when I want to unwind rather than when I'm heading out. I'll spray it on right before bed as part of my relaxation routine. This fragrance has impressive staying power and feels natural without any artificial notes. I love the subtle woody scent with just a hint of bitterness to it. If you apply too much, it can smell overly woody and intense. Be careful when spraying on clothes since the scent can linger for several days.

It has a sharp, smoky woody scent that's closer to a bonfire than a traditional incense—kind of that charred, pungent aroma. Some people describe it as smelling like a temple, smoked sausage, burnt wood, or that woody scent you get walking into a sauna. It's definitely a polarizing fragrance. When I was younger, I gravitated toward florals and citrus notes, but after going through life's ups and downs, I've found myself drawn to woody fragrances instead. This has become my signature scent, and I keep repurchasing it before it runs out. It's not quite a skin scent, but the longevity isn't great, so I mainly spray it on myself just to enjoy it. The scent of bark scraped together and charred over fire... it has that commanding presence like the older brother in the group. It goes beyond temple incense vibes... the fragrance that reaches me feels like someone set fire to every wooded hill in the neighborhood, then gathered up all the ashes and wood and shoved them right up my nose Honestly, if you're already into woody fragrances, you probably won't be as divided on this one
