The color is so vibrant and gorgeous. It's exactly the kind of shade that cool-toned beauties would absolutely love! I'm a true summer with undertones between 19-21, and I love bright summer shades with matte lipsticks as my go-to! The color is such a gorgeous fuchsia pink. The texture is genuinely velvet-like, and honestly, with masks being necessary these days, I have to gently blot it with a tissue after applying to prevent transfer. Despite the powdery texture, the staying power is impressive, and the color deposits evenly and true-to-shade, which I really appreciate! The biggest downside to Bourgeois Rouge Velvet? It has a cement-like smell. There's no taste, obviously, but that distinctive cement odor is really strong and might be a dealbreaker for some people. Since it's velvet, it's bound to transfer when you press your lips together, so here's my tip: apply it a bit more intensely as a full lip color, then blot multiple times with tissue, and layer a deeper shade on the inner lip. Application: Since it has a liquid lipstick formula, it glides on so smoothly and effortlessly! I really appreciated that it doesn't feel sticky or heavy. Longevity: The color payoff is amazing, but what really won me over is how long this lasts. Because it's a tint formula, even after eating, about 80 percent of the color stays put. I barely needed to touch up my lips throughout the day! Not for me - Scent: The smell is really artificial and reminds me of old-school rouge. I have small lips, so I usually can't wear bold reds or deep shades, but this color is surprisingly wearable despite being such a rich tone. Even though my lips tend to be flaky, I barely experience any flaking with this product. It's never irritated my lips or felt uncomfortable, and it applies with a soft, powdery finish like a mousse tint. Even the tiniest amount smudges everywhere the moment it touches anything. There's barely any color payoff. I've waited 30 minutes, an hour, tried pressing it with tissue to set it, but the second I drink water, the center just wipes away completely. The color stays on my hand from the tester, but it comes right off my lips. It transfers onto cups and straws so visibly that I'm constantly worried about it during work and social meals. The matte finish is drying, and while it doesn't cause flaking, it settles into every fine line on my lips and emphasizes them. If it's going to be this matte, at least the wear time should be impressive, but it's not. The scent is off. It doesn't smell spoiled exactly, but it has this weird, stale fragrance like old cosmetics from decades ago. As for the price, my mom used her chance to buy me this because she was tired of me complaining about how flaky Peripera products are, and she picked this at the department store. I didn't pay for it myself, so I can't throw it away, but if I had to buy it with my own money, I absolutely wouldn't. And honestly, even if someone paid me, I still wouldn't use it. The claims about it not transferring and not smudging are complete lies. The staff at the store kept saying it's velvet-textured and long-wearing, that it won't budge, but don't believe them. I asked multiple times, and they insisted there's just a hint of purple and that this is pink. Are you kidding me? This is pure purple with serious staying power issues, and it wipes off like nothing! You'd be better off throwing your money in the trash. At least then you could pick it back up.

The color is absolutely stunning! When I wear this, everyone asks me what shade it is and which product I'm using. Plus, the price is so reasonable, and it actually stays put. Unlike regular lipstick that fades within hours, this one looks great from morning all the way through the evening. The only downside is that you really need oil to remove it. But honestly, if it's going to last from morning to night, it makes sense that it won't just wash off easily. I guess the inconvenience of removal is just something you have to accept.

I've been using the Olé Flamingo shade number 5. The application is incredibly smooth and the color payoff is so vibrant. When I apply it, I get this bright pink that almost glows like fluorescent lighting, but it doesn't feel overwhelming at all—it's actually really pretty. The scent isn't my favorite, which is a bit of a drawback, but it's not strong enough to be a real problem, so I'm okay with it. If I apply a more muted lip color first and then use this product on the inner part of my lips, it creates a beautiful gradient effect.
