I decided to try Chanel Les Beiges as a reliable department store cushion foundation. My skin tone is fair with cool undertones, perfect for summer. This foundation applies beautifully thin and dewy, though it can occasionally look a bit heavy depending on how I apply it. Interestingly, the newer Chanel Sublimage cushion (which is significantly pricier) actually looked heavier on my skin. When I prep my base really well with a thin, firm layer and apply sunscreen before using Les Beiges, I barely notice any heaviness at all. It's such a gorgeous compact that I don't mind keeping it as a mirror in my bag. Since I don't wear makeup often, I really appreciate that this doesn't apply in a thick, cakey way like some foundations do. It's so comfortable that I actually recommend it all the time to friends who prefer a lighter makeup look! It's quite pricey when purchased at full department store price. For the cost, it can sometimes emphasize texture and look a bit heavy on the skin. I've been using this for about two years now, and it's incredibly hydrating. Even though I have extremely dry skin, with proper skincare routine, this product makes my complexion look dewy and radiant. The only downside is that the coverage and longevity aren't the strongest. I do have sensitive skin, but the ingredients are actually quite gentle. The price, though, is pretty steep. The price is expensive and the wear time is short. My skin gets extremely dry, especially during seasonal changes, so I decided to repurchase the Laneige cushion that I loved before. I usually wear shade 17, so I picked up BD01, which is their brightest shade, and it matched my skin tone perfectly. (I previously used the Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion in 13C1.) True to its glow cushion formula, it left my skin feeling dewy and moisturized. Even after being out for 4 hours, my skin didn't feel parched or flaky. The price is what surprised me most. I hadn't repurchased this in a while, and I was shocked to see it's over 100,000 won now. Also, the staff mentioned that I should only peel back half of the cushion seal when using it. If I had peeled it all the way open, the product would have overflowed everywhere and made a mess. Since I'm not the most precise with application, I can just dab and blend it on without worrying too much, and it still gives a beautiful finish to my skin. As a glow cushion, it truly delivers a gorgeous luminous finish that blends beautifully onto your skin tone. What I love most is how clean and seamless the color looks on me. Even as time goes on, there's no darkening or oxidation, and honestly, the foundation actually adheres even better to my skin the longer I wear it. The coverage is a bit on the lighter side, which is a shame. It tends to leave some visible traces, so if you're looking for a cushion with strong coverage, this might not be your best bet. It doesn't provide complete coverage for me. The Chanel concealer is also really fantastic, and if you layer it with this cushion, the coverage becomes absolutely flawless.

The mesh design makes it so easy to control how much product you use. This cushion really knows how to make your skin look amazing. Once you apply it and wait a bit, a slight natural glow comes through as the formula settles, and your complexion looks even more radiant. The coverage isn't strong enough, so you really need to use a concealer on top. It has a tendency to shift slightly throughout the day. The price point is pretty steep, which makes it hard to justify repurchasing. The renewed version comes with more product inside, which is great, but when you open the compact to touch up on the go, the cushion formula sometimes leaks out from the mesh, leaving the case a bit messy. I've been using this cushion foundation exclusively since it first launched, and I'm sticking with it. Sure, there are tons of cushion options out there these days, but this one checks all my boxes. The Reverie case color is absolutely gorgeous in my opinion, it has a cooling effect when you apply it in summer, and it has that luxe Chanel scent. If you're looking for a hydrating cushion that feels refreshing, this is definitely the one to pick. Plus, they sell replacement puffs separately, which makes it really hygienic. The staying power is a bit weak, to be honest. I find myself reapplying it about twice a day. If I use this cushion as my main base, I go through one compact in about a month. So what I do is pair it with a separate powder foundation and use this as a touch-up product when I need it throughout the day, like at lunch or in the evening.
