This was my first time trying a liquid formula, and I'd seen it advertised on Instagram constantly. The price tag made me hesitate at first, but I ended up stopping by Olive Young and couldn't resist grabbing it. The shade on top is Barely, and the one below is Softy in a gorgeous pink tone. Even though I'm not the most skilled with makeup application, I found this product so easy to work with. I've heard some people mention that the base can flake off, but since I apply my base with a dewy finish, I'm not sure if that's the issue for me. Either way, this is such a perfect match for my everyday look! If you apply the base with a matte finish, there's a chance it could start to flake. Color payoff: Here's where it gets interesting - despite the soft appearance, this blush delivers serious pigment. The color comes through stronger than you'd expect, so you really need to be careful or you'll end up looking like a roasted sweet potato. Definitely dab it on the back of your hand first to control the amount. One thing I noticed though is that the shade can look slightly different on your hand versus on your cheeks - it appears a bit more muted on the face rather than that fresh, dewy pop you get on your hand. It settles into a softer tone overall. Application: Since it's liquid-based, the texture glides on beautifully. Great application experience. Formula and quantity: No irritation issues at all. If you try to apply it directly to your cheeks and blend it out, your foundation gets pushed around and the product slides right off, which is disappointing. You really have to dab it on the back of your hand first, then use a finger or sponge to gently press and pick up just a small amount before carefully blending it onto your face in sections. Only then can you minimize patchiness and get a polished finish. Price: Even when there's a sale, this blush is still quite expensive for what it is. This gorgeous peachy-apricot shade is something only Berry can pull off! I also love that once I apply it and set it with powder, I can touch it up without it looking too heavy or obvious. The product doesn't have much volume, and the color doesn't last very long. Plus, since the shade is quite light, it fades significantly when I apply powder over it, which is disappointing. If you're planning to use powder on top, I'd recommend applying a deeper layer of color from the start. First of all, I absolutely love the color - it's so gorgeous and applies beautifully. I'm really happy with how it looks on me. Unfortunately, as time goes on, the makeup starts to flake off and I get these annoying little bumps and small breakouts on my cheeks. If you have oily skin, I'd skip this one. I usually stick with powder blush, but this is my first time trying a liquid formula and I'm obsessed! When you dab it on and blend it out gently, it gives you this beautiful dewy, water-tinted finish that looks so natural and pretty! I'm really impressed with Dear Dahlia as a brand too—the entire packaging is stunning, adorable, and feels so luxurious that I want to collect everything. The color payoff lasts really well, and even just a few light taps with blending gives you such a seamless, natural flush with gorgeous color. I seriously can't recommend this enough! Honestly, I don't really have any complaints. Sure, the price is a bit steep, but the packaging is so beautiful that it's totally worth it.
