Even a small amount creates an amazing lather - it's rich and luxurious, with a texture that feels even more creamy than a typical cleansing foam (and this is just a shampoo!). When I massage it into my scalp and work it through every section, my hair feels incredibly refreshed and clean. I'm absolutely obsessed with the coconut scent, so this shampoo is perfect whenever I need a mood boost. I do like how moisturizing it feels while wet, but once I dry my hair, it feels a bit heavier and weighs my hair down, so I don't get as much volume as I'd hoped. If you have thick hair or want that polished, controlled look, this would be perfect for you. I love the coconut scent. My hair feels like it has so much more body and lift when I use this. I developed skin irritation that spread to my face. I couldn't pinpoint any specific ingredient that seemed problematic, but something just didn't work for me. After trying it three times, I gave up on it. What's strange is that I also get breakouts from this brand's jojoba oil, so it seems like Desert Essence products and my skin just aren't compatible. You can find sample sizes of this on various beauty retailers. The lather builds up beautifully, and I love that it has more of a coffee scent rather than coconut. It's really pleasant! My hair felt stiff and dry afterward, so using a conditioner is absolutely necessary with this product.

I used to have an oily scalp, but after dealing with scalp psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis, my scalp completely changed to dry. My hair strands are parched too. I picked this up because I heard coconut extract has amazing moisturizing power, and I'm really happy with it. If you have an oily scalp, I'd definitely recommend giving this a try. After I wash my hair, the strands feel so stiff and rough. It honestly feels like washing with soap. I've been buying and using several shampoos for my scalp irritation. After shampooing, my hair does feel a bit stiff, but I've solved that with a conditioner. When my hair was shorter, it used to start itching after about 6 hours, but now it stays comfortable for two days. I'm so happy the itching is gone that I'm definitely buying this again. The scent is lovely too. This review is after using it for at least two months. I've already repurchased it again! If I really had to pick something, it's the stiffness after washing. Other than that, there's nothing to complain about. I solved the stiffness issue by using a conditioner.

For a natural shampoo, this one produces an impressive amount of lather and smells absolutely wonderful! It's rare to find a shampoo that smells great AND has quality ingredients, so I'm really impressed with this product. The only downside is that the scent doesn't last as long as I'd like, but honestly, it's nothing compared to shampoos loaded with synthetic fragrances, so I'm happy to use it anyway. When you pair it with the coconut conditioner, the fragrance experience is doubled!
