I tried this product after receiving it as a free sample from Hwahae, and here's my honest review! I decided to test this one first among the three samples because the charcoal and salicylic acid in it are supposed to help soften dead skin and clear out pores. Just looking at the ingredients, you can tell exactly who this product is designed for. It's really formulated for anyone who wants to seriously tackle dead skin and excess oil, just like the product name suggests. That's why I think it works better during summer when oil production is higher, rather than in winter. The texture is a gel with plenty of moisture, and it has a nice amount of salt granules mixed in. It doesn't feel like there's an overwhelming amount of salt particles, but each grain is actually quite substantial in size. The scent is supposed to be lemon, green, and musk, but honestly, it reminds me of a salon smell. I can't quite explain what that means, but it's definitely quite strong and has a masculine cologne vibe with citrus notes. It's not light and refreshing—it has a heavier, more concentrated feel to it. I think men would appreciate this scent more than women. What really impressed me was how the fragrance lingers on your skin after washing. The lasting scent doesn't stick around for too long though. The particles are large but not packed in densely, and they dissolve quickly as you massage them in, so I didn't find it overly harsh. If you're dealing with buildup of dead skin during seasonal changes, keratosis pilaris, or body breakouts, I'd definitely recommend this as a soothing body scrub that actually helps.
