First off, the color is gorgeous and since it's an ink-type liquid lipstick that adheres really well, the staying power is actually quite impressive. Rather than looking stark white, it has a toned-down rosy shade that looks really natural on the lips. The trade-off is that while it sticks beautifully, it does tend to settle into fine lines around the lips, which is unavoidable.

Since it's a liquid formula, the application is smooth and glides on effortlessly, adhering to your lips like a second skin. The pigment shows up exactly as it is, completely covering your natural lip color with a flawless finish. While it doesn't stain, it applies like paint and really stays put on your lips, making it difficult to remove. Honestly, it's both a blessing and a curse depending on how you look at it. Because this is a matte, mousse-textured lip product, it's really important to prep and care for your lips beforehand. Let me start by telling you about myself: I have a cool undertone (estimated light undertone), so whenever I wear colored lip tints or eyeshadows, I tend to look overdone. People often comment on how dark my hair and eyes are. The renewed Hera Black Cushion in shade 21N1 matches my complexion perfectly without any mismatch. I was absolutely captivated by this product the moment I saw it—the packaging is so luminous and elegant. But then I tried it on my lips and was blown away all over again by how incredibly thin and seamlessly it adheres to the lips. My lips are naturally pale with a grayish-mauve undertone and some fine lines, but when I applied this product, I realized it's exactly the my lips but better shade I've been searching for all these years. I used to jump from one lip product to another, but I'm completely smitten now! In the first photo, you can see this product on the left compared to the popular NARS American Woman on the right. When you compare the formula and color payoff, this one has a less runny texture and isn't as red. When I apply it lightly to my lips, it gives a soft blend of muted pink (50%) and beige (50%). The third photo showing the swatch on my wrist is pretty similar to how it looks on my lips. Compared to other cool-toned lip products I've tried—Rom&nd Petal Tesle had too much blue for my skin tone, and 3CE Cashmere Nude matched my coloring well but faded within 30 minutes of wearing it—this product truly lives up to its long-wear name. It feels comfortable but has impressive staying power. I used to wear Bobbi Brown Trailblazer or The Balm Committed as my everyday go-to (plus MAC Elegance is Earned), but I think I'll be reaching for this one exclusively for a while. I purchased this from overseas. The fine lines on my lips do become more visible because this is a matte tint formula focused on long-wear, so that's somewhat unavoidable. However, I'm satisfied because it doesn't transfer or smudge at all. If you have a cool undertone like me and tend to switch between different lip products, I'd say grabbing this one quickly is definitely a smart move.
