I've been going to the salon for 10 years and they always mention my scalp tends to be red, but when I use this product, I can feel my scalp temperature drop right away. Even visually, the redness seems to fade a bit. After washing with just regular shampoo, when I touch my scalp a few hours later, I can feel flakes still clinging to it. But after using this product, I don't feel any flakes at all and the heat is gone, so I'm using it about twice a week now. That said, I can't really tell if it controls scalp odor. I'm someone with extremely oily hair, and while others say it works great for them, mine seems to come back after a while. Maybe it's just me though. I also have this thing where if I skip washing my hair even for one day, I look like I haven't washed it in a week. But the morning after using this product through the next evening, my hair stayed noticeably less oily. I won't bother posting photos of the oil buildup since that probably won't help anyone anyway. The dispenser is a bit inconsistent, whether it's a defect or just how it is, but some days it comes out fine and other days it doesn't. I can't figure out why. Also, the scent is pretty strong with a grapefruit note that feels a bit odd to me. Since both products lather really well, if I switch the containers around, I might mix them up and cause a real problem. It works best when you use it like a shampoo with good lather, spray it on your scalp, massage while building up the foam for about 3 minutes, then let it sit for 5 minutes (roughly three songs worth), and then rinse. If you rinse it off right away, the effectiveness drops a little.

I absolutely love this product. I've been dealing with an oily scalp that constantly flakes no matter how often I wash, plus itching and heat buildup that sometimes leads to irritation (which means I can't use it during those flare-ups). I got this along with a shampoo, but honestly, I'd skip the shampoo from this brand and keep this product—it's that amazing. It feels refreshing and melts away flakes and buildup on the first application. This is truly a game-changer. I was really frustrated with my oily scalp issues, but when symptoms are severe, nothing seems to help anyway (even medicated shampoos don't work, so I don't expect much from functional products). For managing everyday flaking and irritation though, this is genuinely excellent. The price is steep for the amount you get, and it's easy to use too much. Sometimes the formula feels a bit too strong (personally I'm fine with it, but when oily scalp symptoms are really bad, I'm a little hesitant to use it). I use it once or twice a week, or maybe once every few days. That seems to work best for me. (If I use it too frequently, my scalp actually becomes more sensitive and flakes tend to build up even more.)
