I was happy that it didn't contain centella asiatica extract, and I was able to purchase it at an affordable price from Curly. First, the absorption isn't great and the spreadability is disappointing. I was using Doctor Ato Essential Emulsion regularly, but when it went out of stock, I decided to try this product instead. The fragrance is overwhelming and gave me a headache. I was hesitant to apply it on my child, so I only tested it on my own leg. It seems Doctor Ato Essential Emulsion was temporarily discontinued for a reformulation and has since been relaunched with new packaging. However, my previous experience with this product's strong fragrance has made me reluctant to repurchase the Essential Emulsion. I've been using this emulsion alongside Doctor Atopy 7 Ultra Rescue Cica Emulsion since October 26, 2024. I have extremely sensitive, atopy-prone skin with an atopy index around 20,000. Last year, the weather was unpredictable—it stayed warm until early October before suddenly turning cold. I remember dealing with severe skin inflammation at that time, so from September onward I only applied prescription ointments and emulsions from my dermatologist. Once my skin improved, I started looking for a gentle emulsion to apply in the morning to my face and other unaffected areas. After reading through reviews, I came across positive feedback about this product's effectiveness for itching on a Korean shopping site, so I purchased it right away along with the Rescue Emulsion. This is the real deal. My skin is so finicky that products that work for others sometimes don't work for me. I've tried several well-known gentle brands like Illiyoon, Johnson's Baby (famous since childhood), Physiogel, and Atopy99, but Illiyoon and Physiogel felt like they just sat on the surface. Atopy99 worked well, but it was pricey to use on my whole body, and suddenly my skin stopped absorbing it properly. This emulsion has a slightly thinner texture than typical emulsions, but it absorbs beautifully like a toner. It doesn't feel artificial, and after application, my skin feels cooled down like aloe vera, so the itching stops and I use it happily. That's why I apply the Calming Emulsion after cleansing and showering, then layer the Cica Emulsion on areas that need extra hydration. The scent isn't overpowering—it's kind of like a forest? A slightly cool, refreshing fragrance. It's never bothersome. I've been using it from October 2024 through January 2025, and I've never experienced stinging, pilling, or any irritation. I truly recommend this. Please... I just hope my skin continues to respond well to it. If there's an ampoule or cream version in this line, I'm definitely buying it. The price is reasonable and the scent is subtle, which I appreciate since I don't like strong fragrances. The application is smooth and absorption is excellent, but the amount in the bottle is just too small. Please increase the quantity. When used together with the Cica Emulsion from the same line, the results are really synergistic. On days when my skin is extremely dry, if I only use the Calming Emulsion before heading to work, I start seeing flaking by afternoon. It's even worse when I'm exposed to heater air. Why does this contain fragrance? It's supposed to be for sensitive skin, but the moment I applied it, my skin turned red and swollen from the fragrance. The scent is also way too strong. This product spreads beautifully and feels weightless without any stickiness. Even if you typically avoid emulsions, you'll appreciate how effortlessly this glides on. The fragrance is absolutely wonderful. I noticed dryness pretty quickly after applying it, and there's definitely that underlying dry feeling underneath. No matter how much emulsion I layered on, the lightweight texture just didn't seem to address the dryness effectively. Plus, the amount you get is quite modest, so if you have dry skin like me, this product won't last long at this price point.
