You might already know this, but it has a texture similar to a drink where shaking it creates jelly-like particles. It's an essence with a generous amount, so you can use it generously without worrying about waste. However, those particles are a bit inconvenient. When I try to soak a cotton pad to use it as a sheet mask, the particles don't absorb into the pad and just sit on the surface. And when I apply it to my face, it doesn't absorb well either. So when I layer additional skincare products on top, everything just slides around. Because of this sliding effect, I wouldn't recommend applying it before makeup.
