The first photo shows the color when I just applied it, and the second shows how it looks once it sets on my lips. This product really does have impressive staying power, just like the brand advertises. Since it's a blurry tint formula, if you have any dry patches or flaking on your lips, they might become more noticeable. I'd recommend gently exfoliating your lips first before applying it for the best results. The color shifts depending on how you apply it. When you first apply it versus when you blend it, the shade looks different. On the product page, there's barely any orange tone, but when you actually apply and blend the product on your lips, it picks up this subtle coral or orange undertone that wasn't expected. Because of this, I've started using a lip brush to apply it—I use the brush to lay down a base layer of the product first, then add more on top. When I load enough product on the brush and follow my lip line carefully, it gives me that clean, true color I was looking for from the initial application. Pro tip for applying velvet tint! The night before, apply a generous layer of lip balm to your lips before bed. When you wake up and wash your face, gently rub your lips with a damp hand to easily remove any dry skin. The Nocturne and this Lucid shade are absolutely gorgeous, and they're just perfect for my skin tone! They look so fresh and radiant, and I'm completely in love. Since I have smaller lips, this has become my go-to base for creating an overlip effect. I'm not entirely sure about my exact undertone, but I'm definitely cool-toned rather than warm-toned. Whenever I wear beige or gold shades, I look older and my complexion feels dull and lifeless. That's why I always gravitate toward pink tones or reds with pink undertones, or even orange shades as long as they have a hint of pink mixed in rather than being pure orange. The Lucid shade is orange-based, but with that pink undertone mixed in, it gives off such a bright, almost neon-orange vibe when freshly applied! Florenkos products generally have a matte finish with great staying power, but they do tend to emphasize dry patches a bit. That said, this Lucid shade feels different from their other matte lip products because it's actually more moisturizing. I always use Florenkos lip products as a base rather than wearing them alone. When I use this as an overlip, it's absolutely the best! I layer a matte Florenkos lip as my base, then add a long-wearing tint that doesn't budge easily to the inner part of my lips to create a gradient effect, and the result is stunning. Even after eating, when I check the mirror, the color has faded slightly but it doesn't smudge or flake off completely. Since I don't usually do touch-ups throughout the day, I'm really satisfied with how long-lasting it is. When I got home after work and looked in the mirror, the color was still vibrant.
