This is hands down the gentlest shaving product I've ever used. As I've gotten older, shaving has become increasingly irritating and honestly stressful, but I finally found my go-to product with this one. (I still browse around wondering if there's something better, but honestly, I don't think there is.) My beard is thick and grows densely down to my cheeks and neck area. During my shower, I use about a fingertip to fingertip-and-a-half amount, massaging it generously onto my face and spreading it evenly before shaving with a wet razor. 1. When I used Gillette or other well-known brands, even after waiting with plenty of water during my shower, the shave would start off rough and irritated along the blade lines. This product glides across like it's been oiled, which was my first pleasant surprise. 2. The transparent formula lets me see exactly where I'm shaving, and since I tend to be thorough and meticulous (my beard gets dark by afternoon since it's so coarse, so I like getting a really clean shave), I'm amazed there's zero irritation even with multiple passes. That was my second wow moment. 3. After shaving like this, when I apply aftershave, irritation used to be just part of the routine. But with this product, I feel nothing at all. I honestly thought it had some numbing ingredient in it at first. 4. The price is reasonable too. A couple of 200-gram tubes at around ten to fifteen thousand won last me about six months, so it's definitely worth it. 1. The only minor thing is the container looks a bit cheap, like a budget brand. At first, I was hesitant to even reach for it, but now that blue color actually looks refreshing to me. 2. There's a fresh scent when you first open it, but it's nothing special. I was surprised by the lower-than-expected rating, but I'm genuinely satisfied with this product. The container quality, color, gel texture, and how well it prepares my skin for a smooth shave are all impressive. I bought two containers, and even though I alternate between products, I can tell this will last quite a while. Honestly, I'd be happy using just this and a shaving cleanser on rotation for life. Here's why I wouldn't use it alone permanently—I'll explain in the drawbacks section. When I apply it like an exfoliating gel and give it a moment to work, my facial hair becomes incredibly soft, making my shave cleaner and more refreshing. Even rinsing feels smooth and effortless. For years, I used razors my parents gave me, then ones I bought in the military, along with complimentary foams and gels. I thought shaving always meant nicks and cuts, and that someone with thick, dense facial hair like me could never get a truly clean shave. But after my service ended and I finally ran out of old blades and products, I decided to search for something better. After researching and deliberating, this product—alongside Gillette's Fusion ProGlide—completely opened my eyes to what a great shaving experience could be. The main issue is that it's harder to control the amount compared to foaming products. The cooling menthol sensation noticeably fades by the third use, which isn't a problem functionally, but it's disappointing. This is actually why I wouldn't use it solo long-term—the sensation dulls quickly. I'm not unhappy with it, but I do find myself wondering, "Is this really as good as I thought when I first tried it?" It's not that it performs poorly in comparison; it's just that on its own, the experience feels quite ordinary, which might be why the sensation fades. People's preferences are clearly divided on this. Just like how some people find non-foaming cleansers unsatisfying and feel they don't clean well, those who love a rich lather will probably find this disappointingly flat. The consistency thins out dramatically when water mixes in. The gel itself has a naturally thin, lightweight feel. I've tried countless shaving creams and gels, but I haven't found a product with this kind of amazing value for money. Personally, I prefer the gel formula over the foam type. It really adheres beautifully to my skin and feels so smooth. It's affordable and comes in a tube format, so you can use it economically without waste. The formula felt quite strong and intense, which made my skin feel a bit sensitive and irritated. I didn't experience any major skin issues, but I wouldn't repurchase it.
