I have sensitive skin, so I usually experience itching in the afternoon when I wear foundation. But Giverny works great for me! The shade 21-22 is a perfect match for my skin tone. The coverage is medium, and it lasts really well throughout the day. If you don't prep your skin with a hydrating base, this foundation can look patchy. You'll want to be extra careful during fall and winter months. Butterfly zone only, extreme wear formula, shade 23 - this foundation is absolutely worth every penny! I've been using this for about six months now, and I can honestly say it lives up to its reputation and price tag. Seriously, this was my first foundation ever, and I haven't found anything better since. Check mark Staying power: With the Giverny foundation plus powder combo, you're looking at solid coverage for half the day. Sure, the nose area gets a bit oily and might need a touch-up, but it doesn't look messy or broken down at all. I even fell asleep without removing my makeup once, and the next morning my skin still had that beautiful, luminous glow. Check mark Adherence: This foundation is so easy to apply that even beginners can't mess it up. Just adjust the amount around your nose area and you'll get that flawless, poreless egg-shell skin effect that everyone wants. I personally didn't notice any transfer or smudging either. Check mark Coverage: Even with a thin application, it covers blemishes beautifully. I have quite severe redness, so I did need color correction for that (though Giverny is actually known for being good at covering redness, but it really depends on your skin). Despite being lightweight, the coverage is genuinely impressive. My skin isn't perfect, so I still needed concealer, but if coverage isn't your only priority when choosing a foundation, you'll really love this one. This is honestly my favorite foundation, so there's really not much to complain about, but one thing I'm certain of is that the shade runs way too light. The color itself is beautiful with a nice ivory tone, but I ordered shade 22 and received shade 21, which is even lighter than that. Please go down a shade when you buy this. I'm going to repurchase in shade 23 or 24 next time, seriously... Just a heads up - this foundation works really well with a firmer, semi-matte puff rather than a fluffy one. The coverage is solid and I really appreciated how it refined my skin texture beautifully. This product ended up being the culprit behind my skin irritation. Since I have oily skin, it kept triggering excess shine throughout the day, so I had to constantly reapply powder. My skin felt itchy and uncomfortable, and honestly, the ingredient list didn't inspire much confidence in me. If you're dealing with visible pores, definitely try using a primer underneath.

My skin reacts immediately with irritation or folliculitis if I use products with ingredients that don't work for me. Typically, I don't get much pustular acne. I have very oily skin and avoid products with strong moisturizing power, citric acid, stearic acid, shea butter, various oils, or natural extracts because I'm concerned about allergic reactions. Even though my skin is oily, I deal with both excess oil and extreme dryness, so I do best with lightweight serum-type formulas. My previous foundation was a semi-matte finish that I couldn't wear in fall, so I decided to try this one. First, it applies smoothly and thinly. Even though it doesn't provide full coverage, it creates a natural-looking skin finish. Second, despite having sensitive skin, I experienced zero irritation or breakouts when using it. Third, the shade 22 appears to be perfectly calibrated without being too light. I've always been frustrated that most other foundations come out one or two shades lighter than their labeled number, but this one matches my skin tone exactly, which I'm really happy about. Fourth, for a natural beige, it doesn't have that yellow cast, and it covers redness beautifully, which surprised me. The subtle peachy tone is really lovely. The thin application is a trade-off. Compared to other brands, the coverage feels a bit lighter. I can use concealer just on the areas that need more coverage, so in terms of skin finish, this is both an advantage and a disadvantage depending on what you're looking for. Overall, I'm really satisfied with the ingredient list and how naturally it lets my skin show through, so I'm planning to stick with this product for a while. I have dry skin and this product feels so light and powdery in the best way. If you have dry skin like me, I absolutely recommend it. Even shade 23 applies beautifully without any patchy spots, and when I use a spatula to apply it thinly, it hugs my skin perfectly and I'm obsessed. You really need to try this. It's also amazing for touch-ups throughout the day. The product itself is great, but I wish I could carry it with me for touch-ups since it's a liquid foundation and not portable. The coverage is seriously amazing. It applies so smoothly, like it's been airbrushed on, and it clings perfectly to my skin. It feels like a second skin. I was really grateful that they included a cushion compact case with it, and I've been using it in there. The downside is that the shade 21 sells out super quickly at the store nearby. There's quite a bit of difference between my neck tone and face tone, so I have to blend it all the way down to my neck. I'm not super knowledgeable about makeup, so I'm not entirely sure why, but when I apply concealer first and then foundation, something just feels off.
