Then I switched to Giberne, which doesn't have that ingredient, and my skin has been so much better ever since. It's been such a relief! I know everyone wants to cover up their acne with concealers and full-coverage products, but please try Giberne instead! Trust me, your skin will thank you. Sometimes less is more - let your skin breathe naturally instead of piling on layers. Your complexion will improve so much! Other people say it doesn't have enough coverage, and honestly, the coverage isn't the strongest. But here's the thing - even though it doesn't cover as much, my skin feels so much more comfortable wearing it! The staying power seems decent, and I'm pleasantly surprised by how moisturizing it actually is. While it does feel hydrating, it's honestly too heavy for winter use. Plus, for shade 23, it's way too light. I have very sensitive skin, and I have to say, the color is absolutely gorgeous. When I apply it, my skin looks naturally brighter and more radiant. I use a spatula to apply it, and I love that my skin doesn't feel tight or uncomfortable as time goes on. The coverage seems to be medium level. This semi-matte foundation gives such a smooth, velvety finish that I've been using it consistently! I didn't experience any pilling or clinging, and by applying it thinly with a brush and then gently building coverage with a sponge, I found that both the wear time and coverage are excellent. The shade is so radiant that it really brightens up my complexion! The only downside is that compared to shade 23, this one feels a bit lighter. The color is absolutely stunning! Photo 1 shows Giverny foundation, and photos 2-3 show another brand's shades 23 and 22. Shade 23 is the perfect match for my skin tone and applies beautifully. When I layer it multiple times over blemished areas, the coverage is incredible. Even one application covers well, but layering makes imperfections completely disappear. I have extremely oily skin, so other foundations leave me looking greasy and slick, which is why I used to powder constantly. But Giverny gives such a beautiful, natural-looking finish that I only powder initially and then skip it. I noticed there's no breakdown over time. When I first apply it, it looks slightly lighter than my neck, but as time passes, my skin looks more natural and blended, which I absolutely love. My skin texture looks amazing because the finish is so pretty and refined-looking. Even when I sweat heavily, my makeup doesn't budge. I did a durability test at the sauna, applying one brand on half my face and Giverny on the other half. After sweating all day, the other brand completely fell apart and my nose was totally bare from sweat, but Giverny just showed a beautiful shine with no breakdown whatsoever. I only needed powder on my smile lines. After 8 hours of continuous sweating, this is the first foundation that didn't break down. I quickly wiped off the other brand and touched up with Giverny, and it blended seamlessly. When I first purchased it, I received the foundation, puff, and cushion container together. I fill the cushion container with foundation for easy touch-ups on the go. The foundation applies with a dewy, adherent finish that's surprisingly hydrating. It's hard to find a foundation that works year-round, but this one seems perfect. I'm genuinely completely satisfied. The puff that comes with the set is amazing. When you dampen it slightly with water, it becomes so soft and bouncy. Coverage: 4.5 out of 5, Longevity: 5 out of 5, Shade matching: 4.7 out of 5 (actually matches better than expected), Thoughtfully curated set. The shade does shift slightly, but for me it actually becomes a more natural match with my skin. I'm not sure how it will perform for others though. If you feel like the foundation is sitting on top of your skin, definitely exfoliate first. Also use a toner that absorbs well rather than one that sits on the surface. Sometimes I like to mix it with a brightening cream when I want a slightly lighter shade than my natural skin tone. Since I use shade 23, mixing it with a brightening cream that has a lighter undertone works great for me. Some people might suggest using any tone-up cream, but I find those too heavy and they create too much contrast with my neck while also looking patchy. The foundation applies well with a spatula, but I recommend getting a flat foundation brush from the beauty store for around five dollars. It makes application perfect. Always use the puff from the set with either a facial mist or water.

I tried this foundation for the first time, and I think it's perfect for beginners like me! The application is so smooth and lightweight, and there's virtually no creasing, so you don't need to apply it super thin with a spatula to get a beautiful, natural-looking complexion. (Though applying it thin does give better wear and a prettier finish!) What I loved most was how it looks on the skin. The coverage is better than expected, and the formula has a semi-matte finish. Before powder, it had a subtle glow that felt natural. Since I have combination skin that leans oily, I appreciated that it doesn't look overly dewy or shiny. (If you're looking for a super hydrating foundation, this might not be it!) The shade is a gorgeous ivory tone, and honestly, this foundation is ideal for anyone just starting out with makeup. It works beautifully on any skin type without feeling heavy or uncomfortable. The downside is that when I choose a base, I prioritize ingredients, coverage, and oxidation. The ingredients seem fine for my skin since I don't have sensitive skin, and I didn't experience any breakouts. Coverage-wise, it's decent enough. But the oxidation is really frustrating. Just thirty minutes after application, the shade darkens by almost a full tone, and later, oil builds up noticeably in my T-zone, especially around my nose. I checked with friends who have similar skin to mine, and they experienced the same heavy oxidation issue. The wear time is actually quite good despite the oxidation, but when the color shifts darker, the longevity doesn't feel as impressive. This foundation is incredibly oily-skin friendly, and compared to other foundations, the coverage feels really strong too. There's no darkening or oxidation, and the wear time is solid, so I'm genuinely happy with it. Shade 23 is a bit lighter, and while I usually avoid darker shades, this one is absolutely perfect for me. My skin is combination, leaning more oily, and this foundation feels like it was made just for my skin type. Even when it starts to wear throughout the day, it breaks down beautifully compared to other foundations. On days I wear Giverny, I get so many compliments about how great my skin looks. It applies more flawlessly on oily skin than on dry skin, and when I mix it with BB cream, it's absolutely fantastic. I've tried plenty of other full-coverage foundations lately, but nothing compares to how satisfied I am with Giverny. If you prefer a lighter makeup look, you might feel like this foundation applies a bit thicker even when you adjust the amount. However, for someone like me who wants both coverage and smooth application, it doesn't feel overly thick at all.
