No irritation on my scalp. I usually get a sensitive, itchy scalp with most products, but this felt like a really gentle formula. My hair didn't get damaged. My hair was already in rough condition to begin with, but I didn't experience any matting or tangling issues. If anything, my hair felt silkier and smoother. Minimal red tones when rinsing. You know that reddish tint that often shows up when Korean hair dyes rinse out? When the water ran clear and my hair turned that brownish shade, there was barely any red showing through. The ash-blue tones really came through beautifully. (Update: Actually, looking at it again in natural light, I can see some red tones coming through now.) The color fades quite quickly. I had previously dyed my hair brown, and since I did it myself, it had some uneven patches. I was looking for a dark shade to cover those up, and I expected a deep blue-black color to last, but it only stayed that way for a day or two. The formula is too thin and watery for at-home application. When I opened the first bottle, the product literally poured out everywhere and I panicked. You really have to be careful when squeezing the product into the included plastic bowl. Once I mixed both bottles together, it did get a bit thicker and more manageable. Don't use the included gloves. I'd recommend getting latex gloves instead. These gloves made it really hard to control the application. Other brands like Mi×sen include latex gloves. I've seen posts online saying the color doesn't fade and won't stain your pillowcase, but I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. For the first few days after coloring, I'd recommend putting a towel on your pillow to be safe.
