If you have very oily skin, this might not be the best match for you. Since the formula is quite rich and emollient-based, it can shift or separate on the face as the day goes on. I use a dedicated highlighter sponge with this product. After applying my base, I gently tap it onto the high points of my face - forehead, nose, lips, and cheekbones - then blend it out with the sponge.
