I start with the lighter shade to soften my natural lip line, then use this color to really emphasize the lip shape I want. The lip pencil is so good that I always finish with it, and I'm actually using both shades together regularly. This lipstick matches my natural lip color so perfectly that it actually makes my lips look fuller. Plus, the formula is lightweight and super easy to apply. I bought this shade thinking it would add depth and dimension to my lips, but it's way too red for that purpose. And if I use it alone to line my lips, it looks way too harsh and dated. I'd recommend pairing this with a lighter shade for the best results. Otherwise, it can feel a bit heavy-handed.

That said, it holds up better than the original blunt-tip version. The gold finish on the case cap tends to chip and peel easily. There's a blending tip on the back, but it feels more like it's erasing the color rather than blending it. I have a cool summer tone, and this product is amazing for me! Shading effect: It's fantastic for creating definition under the lips and along the lower lip line. You can also use it on the outer corner of the eyes. Not too dark: I was worried the shade would be too deep, but the dark tone is actually really clear and beautiful. Smooth application: It glides on so smoothly and blends beautifully. Just use the smudging tip on the back to blend where needed, and lip correction is done in seconds. Slight tinting: I have a habit of my lips getting dry, which usually washes away lip products. I was hoping for some color payoff, and I'm thrilled that it actually stains and lasts. Slim pencil design is even better: It fits perfectly in my bag. Nothing major, but the tip does pop out from the back, which is a bit annoying. I wish the staying power lasted a little longer.

It blends seamlessly with my natural lip tone, so the application looks incredibly natural. 2. The slim design makes it easy to draw precise, detailed lines. 3. I can smudge it with a sponge applicator instead of my fingers, which is super convenient. 4. It even comes with a sharpener, though I haven't used it yet. I have a longer face with a smaller lip width, so I decided to pick this up to define my lip contour. I tested both the regular and slim versions at the store, and even though the slim was pricier, I noticed it had a slightly cooler undertone. I spent a good amount of time comparing them side by side, wiping and reapplying to make sure I wasn't imagining things, but the slim version definitely had that cooler vibe. That's why I went with the slim. My skin has a warm, yellow base with some redness (I think I'm a light undertone), and my lips are naturally pale, cool-toned, and lack color. With matte lipsticks, I really need to use a cool shade to make it work since they completely cover my natural lip color. But with more moisturizing formulas like glossy lipsticks or tints, even slightly peachy shades come across as cool and look pretty good on me. The staying power isn't the best, so I find myself checking my lips pretty often. If you're using this to define your lip contour, I'd recommend matching it to your natural lip tone rather than going lighter. When I don't wear anything on my lips, my face looks washed out and my face appears even longer, so filling in my lip contour actually makes my philtrum look shorter. Since matte lipsticks don't suit me well, I always apply a lip balm underneath, but I skip it on the contour area. Otherwise, the lip pencil gets wiped away and all that effort to define my philtrum goes to waste, plus a glossy center on the lip contour just emphasizes the length even more. So I avoid applying lip balm or gloss to the upper lip area. The lips in the photo have tint applied and are a bit faded, so it's not my bare lips. This Heart Percent lip pencil came out a bit thinner than expected, and it's in a gorgeous mauve shade. I use it to add definition and depth along my lip line, in the corners, and as a subtle contour. It glides on so smoothly and effortlessly, and I absolutely love how soft and comfortable it feels. The product runs out way too quickly since I use it regularly. This product is perfect for cool winter tones - it doesn't look ashy or washed out, and it applies beautifully without any fuss. The application, color payoff, and staying power are all fantastic. But what really impressed me is that it comes with a blending brush included, which makes it even better! There's absolutely nothing I dislike about it. I'm using it constantly and loving every moment! I'm definitely planning to repurchase.

I usually skip the overdrawn lip trend and go for a pencil and tint combo instead—it's great for defining my natural lip shape and building that layered effect. I reach for this combo constantly, and honestly, the automatic application and blending are so smooth that even I can create a polished finish without any fuss. I wish the color was just a touch lighter so I wouldn't have to worry as much about controlling the application pressure. I'm thinking the lip color might work better as a supporting shade rather than the main event on its own. Apply with varying pressure using a dabbing motion for a customized finish
